Hi qwertydog,

Sorry I can't help you as I am not a nail or beauty therapist, but did you have a look at the "Past Exam Paper" or "Student/Training" Forums, there may be some help there for you. As Treacle said above, maybe somebody in the know will be able to assist you. Wishing you the best for your exam.

Love & blessings,

Rachel

hi
hope its not too late for your exam - mine was yesterday, so here's what i can remember (i asked a couple on here a few days ago). sorry to tell you that the nail tech paper was awful (for my class, anyway) - stuff we didn't know & had never heard of, but then our teaching was poor so hopefully yours is better.

NB wording as remembered - not direct quotes - not all options given, especially where i thought some were obviously wrong.

what should the enhancement removal bowl be made from?
real choice glass or metal (think others were plastic and clay?)
i put metal, as this is what we have been using - think either is ok (so bad question) but have a feeling they were looking for glass - i would check this out if i were you.

how much solvent should be put in the container for removal?
2-3cm / 5-6cm / cover fingers / cover hands
i guessed 2-3

something about the name of the heat reaction
endothermic / exothermic / thermogenic / thermologic
fairly sure exothermic

which system is easiest to remove?
real choice between gel & fibreglass (others acrylic & ??)
bad question, as soft gel is easiest of all, and hard gel is hardest of all.
i guessed fibreglass, as soft gels relatively new and not that many of them - again, need to check this out.

what angle should the tip slicer be held at for oval shape?
4 choices between 90/45 degrees towards/away from client.
we had never heard of this, but saw our tutor as we were leaving & she said 45 away from client.

max wattage for UV lamp? 25 / 45 / 60 / 100
i had only seen 9 or 36, so guessed at 45 as its the only one divisible by 9.

what is c curve?
base to tip / free end of free edge / side wall to side wall / free edge where leaves nail bed.

what is in primer & anchor products?
choice between ethyl acetate & methacrylic acid

what should the therapist dry her hands with?
choice between paper towel & hot air dryer

time between maintenance visits?
choice between 2-3 / 1-2 weeks (think its 2-3)

these were the ones i noted on scrap paper - the rest seemed clear or easy - let me know if you want me to try to remember them.

good luck

penny

hi thanks for this these helped soo much.

i had lernt the contra-indications anyway but nearly all the ony ones showed up in the first 10 questions!

there was also the ingredients in the resin!

so thankyou for your help and good luck to anyone else who has their exam soon!

my friend got a total different exam to me and the rest of our class as there was a delay in getting her papers down from itec so beware they do have more than 1 exam paper for every subject! so still learn all you need to off of the sylabus.
