This website purports to feature audio recordings from 20 budgies that REALLY held conversations, with vocabularies of up to 1,000 words. They could even wax philosophical. Gosh, it actually sounds authentic to me! [:-][&:][:-]Opinions? [:-]

RE: TRULY Talking Budgies?
V, really sorry but my computer is so slow tonight that I couldn't listen to the recordings BUT jsut to say that I think birds are amazingly intelligent and that they do seem to have conversations. And not only birds but so do sheep. I was ata farm the other day with my grandaughter and there were about50 sheep inside in a barn and they were chatting away (well baaing away, but definitely conversationally) until we went in. Then they stopped. They started again when we left. Weird.
However - not sure about that web-site! It's asking for money to see the video recordings, and the conversation scripts...........I don't think so.

RE: TRULY Talking Budgies?
Hi Sharon,
Listen when you can. :eek:If it's a hoax it's pretty darn good, as I've had several budgies and know how they sound. (One that we had instantly picked up a one-off "Oh, you b****r!" from my mother, when she hurt her thumb. We could hardly let the vicar into the living room ever after that! :D)
RE: TRULY Talking Budgies?
Oh V, I've listened to one of them - and no, I think they are a hoax. I've had budgies too, so I know what they sound like and they don't have such a soft conversational tone! I think maybe someone's got one of those voice changing machinesand had a great idea for a site.
