Most scientific discoveries needed some sort of imagination to come up with the original idea, which is then tested to see if is correct, so I completely agree that imagination is one of humans greatest strengths.

i guess i think that dogma sometimes mascerades as science and tries to turn good ideas into heresy. what seems to happen in some fields of science (particularly biological fields) is that, when evidence runs contrary to the expectations of dogma, the evidence is ignored.
