RE: Quantum Physics books

I second "The Field" by Lynne McTaggart as an important book. It's about the Zero Point Field, a pervasive quantum-mechanical environment which has great implications for how we interact with each other and the world.

RE: Quantum Physics books

I read "complementary therapies in context: a Psychology of Healing" by Helen Graham and found much much more than I bargained for!

she goes (in my ignorant opinion) in depth into the shaping of our Western world by Newtonian / Descartian philosophy (which I cant help blaming for our treatment of nature and our problem in relating to our bodies, Nature and Spirit), then she goes into New Quantum Physics, or new life sciences.

and that is awsome...well, for someone like me whose only knowledge of modern mystico-science consisted of one or two documenatry-channel tv documentaries (string theory; parallel universe and of course....aliens!).

what she says - and what feelslike natural thinking - is that only since we have touched upon new science we have started to "envisage" the worldas describedby ancient Eastern wisdom (Vedic, mainly). The basic stuff (mind-blowing) is that: REALITY (OUR EXPERIENCE OF LIFE AND THE MATERIAL WORLD) IS NOTHING ELSE BUT THE OUTERSHELL OF THE ULTIMATE AND PERMANENT REALITY. It is like we live on the outside, on the raincoat of the real universe...the wave breaking on the beach is just the outer end-product of the real event somewhere else...

strangely - or not - this made sense to me in a way, (and this is not vanity, narcissism as I think we all know that) that is what I feel if I watch the ocean breaking on a cliff: this is just the minute last ripples of a much bigger more meaningful EVENT taking place somewhere else. like our world is the last and widest ripple on a lake where a stone has been thrown in. Now, taking this the other way round, that makes you wonder what effect our atomic tests have in our inner core, and at the other end of the universe (in line with homeopathic law: the weakest vibration is the most potent) made me wonder if when an earthquake occurs somewhere on the planet, there arent actually more potent effects (but invisible this time) at its farthest point across the planet. ie just look at a globe (if you have one at home) and imagine a line going through the planet and see where the tremors actually hadtheir longest and most potent but invisble effects.....am I fancifully thinking or already senile?

she also makes the link between the universe energies - as found in new sciences - and the "coincidental similitude" with CHAKRAS in ayurvedic thought. chakras swirl in both directions, when healthy...funnily enough I had a craniosacral session done to me yesterday and saw a swirling circle going clockwise (with eyes closed).

also I remember (that was quite dense and tough reading at night so I may have fallen asleep a few time in that chapter!) her description of Time, and that most illnesses (including depression) arise from our sense/awareness of time. and what she suggests will make perfect sense to anyone I'm sure: to be happy, just do anything that absorbs your mind and makes time stop or become elastic, like drawing or making music...and rythm/heartbeat....which is a wave, just like ordinary sound...

Sound!! I remember watching that tv doc about the Da Vinci code and the guy went to Rosslin chapel near Edinburgh and looked at the sculptures and suggested they were music score codes, which, if cracked, could open a "gate" into the other dimension. Apart from the fancifull martian theory, this make total sense to me! indeed, the guy showed a scientist/musican playing a strange instrument where when he brushed his metal pole against perpendicularly to a metal plate, all the sand collected (each time he did a different sound it createdin adifferent image) into geometrical beautiful patterns!! Apparently (Helen Graham explains) the lines where the sand has collected (making beautiful lines)are actually the energy-dead zones!! the real energy created out of the sound/music are where there is nothing to see....which bring us back to Quantum Physics and Reality: it is actually what we CAN

RE: Quantum Physics books

by the way: if SOUND is geometrical arrangement of energy (and some sounds can break our cells and damage our immune system), what can we make out of crystals?

all crystals have a definite geometrical arrangement of atoms and science recognises some of them to have powerful radiation/vibration powers (clear quartz = laser and makes watches work...). therefore, crystals would be sound in a different measure of time: a denser amount of time? and what about their effects on us? (I confess I love crystals and feel some's vibrations as tremendous).

me again!!

talking to myslef, it seems...

will order soon this book, has anyone read it ? (I suspect it is a lot of the background research done by H. Graham in the book I read - see above):

Fadette, hi! [sm=wave.gif]

I've read 21st Century Vibrational Medicine by Richard Gerber, which was the updated version of the original V.M.

I'd be interested to know what you think.

One of my favourite Quantum Physics type books is The Field by Lynne McTaggart, which has been mentioned by Llewellyn in post # 31.
