This is a field of science which really interests me and could provide the scientific reason behind why healing and self healing (in all its various forms) helps.
But.. I would love to learn much more about it.
Does anyone know where to start to get to further into this?
This could be courses or books or talks or...
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
RE: Psychoneuroimmunology
This must be a longest therapy name I've seen.
Perhaps I should start a thread "Who knows the longest therapy name?"
Sear number of characters make me think it's something really difficult to get a grasp on.
Is this a study on healing mechanism?

RE: Psychoneuroimmunology
Ow.. Sorry - yes, perhaps I should note what it is all about..
It'sseries of studies on how the mind (psycho) transmits signals through the neurological system (neuro) in order in to improve the immune response (immunology).
It other words, it is the science's way of describing and explaining why healing works. Or how people can get better by thinking happy pictures. As I'm a quite scientific person, and my family are all sceptics (and mathematicians), reading up on this, will help me explain to myselfand others why it is so important to mind what you are saying and thinking in order to get better..
I'm not sure whether these studies are doneby science as in doctors, or chemists or they are done by pshychologist because of the mind prospective, so I don't know where to look for further information..
RE: Psychoneuroimmunology
There is quite a lot of research on the net if you put the title in the search engine; often called PNI for short. It is very exciting I was talking to a trainee nurse and she said that they are starting to teach this in their nursing training. We will be publishing an article about PNI written by Dr Samanta Laughton as soon as the the web designer has time to put it up.

RE: Psychoneuroimmunology
A subject close to my heart 🙂
I did my Hypnotherapy Diploma dissertation mainly on psychoneuroimmunology way back when and now work with it in a practical way with hypnotherapy and EFT - mainly EFT. It does get frustrating sometimes though, as the hardest part is getting people in for therapy. Most seem to prefer keeping their symptoms. However, every new client that comes for help is hope that things are a-changing and every client helped is one person without their immune system problem/s. If you want to know more, please feel free to PM me.
