RE: Live indefinalty...Possilbe?Probable?
I have to say that such a long lifespan would not appeal to me. One of the comforts of life is knowing that one day, one will be 'at rest' from life's labours. It's called death.

Yes, however fancical it seems, and perhaps good to some people, it still seems un-natrual, and the implactions of it outway the good benifits if could bring about, so i would say that its is just some unique genius, who has a mortality issue, and thus he uses hi interlect to perhaps doom us all; like some many apocoliptic Novels. Pehpas in the future we would be ready for such advancements, but at the momment we carnt even runa county right withoutmessing thingsup, and even if these advancements did come about we would have to have a very good planas tohow to intergrate it into the mainstream culture of our nations. As thiswould have to be done successfully in order for the advancement to work effectivley and to give the most universal benifts.
Cheers all, bye 😀
Here's a yoyo who thinks he may do it! that is, live forever.

Just found this thread and tho it's a bit old now thought I would add my bit!
I've a biomolecular science degree and tho we were told it will be possible to extend life (it's all to do with DNA replication) by doing so it increases the risk of cancer - this also explains why the majority of cancer affects older people, so unless a cure is found it seems unlikely that we can truly extend life to a ridiculously long length of time and if we did we'd probably be on constant preventative medication.
Oh it definitely can be extended. I found a video on TedTalk one day about a scientist (British I think) who found a way to do it, by slowing down the multiplication speed of cells. 😛
