RE: A Request from my son

Oh absoloutly, He is very lucky in this School & is finding the subjects very interesting.....He is excellent at science any how & although wont admit it too loudly as it's not street cred!! he is very interested in the enviroment we live in. & faiths not religion as such but the faith people place in their religion. He is a special child very sensative, & thats why i feel lucky because this school seems to nurture that.

RE: A Request from my son

Hey Maria - your son is doing himself a disservice - being good at science sounds like excellent 'street cred' to me!

My son fluently speaks three other languages apart from English. He too, never let it be known to his friends that he was a fluent speaker in any other language. When I let it slip out by accident one day, they all started congratulating him. Tell your son that knowledge is power and that hiding his light under a bushel is not what he should be doing - he should be as proud of his achievements as his mum and dad are proud of him, and them.

I wish him the very best of luck - he's a son to be proud of.

Love,
Patsy.

Hi Pastsy
Sorry I misled you he thinks its not street cred to be enviromentally aware although they teach that in school now to. but it's really his sensativity to it all , I think he's quite shamanic in some ways. He loves working in the garden ,the weeding & planting Watching things grow & is accepting that only organic things should go on the garden even if it does mean a few more weeds.;) He loves the herb garden particulary.
He's a very clever young lad despite his very hard start in life and the fact he has ADD & Dyspraxia When he was about 3 he was diagnosed with a sever speech & language delay & needed help in class but it was not easy to get.Still he is excelling in Science Maths Geography, languages,ICT.. He is proud of his achievbements & rightly so & so am i. Just as i'm sure you are about your Son... speaking three languages fluently is remakable ... I find English hard enough let alone two other languages.

Isn't it great to be a MUM!!

RE: A Request from my son

hello Maria,

Your son sounds as if he is a very enlightened soul, beyond his years. Everyone should be environmentally aware, and your son is showing that he is a responsible young man by taking an interest in the world around him. His friends will be relying on him and people like him in years to come, for their health and well-being and for their knowledge.

It is interesting to note that you said that your son was diagnosed with severe speech difficulties when a small child, just out of babyhood. My son was also diagnosed with this, he was a very late talker. He had speech therapy sessions and language understanding lessons, and all sorts. However, he was 'early' in all other things - weaning, walking, out of nappies and bottles by the time he was two-and-a-half years old. My guess is that your son was the same - early in most things. Once Brian began speaking, he never shut up, and now he's a fluent linguist. So much for the speech therapy! Your son's learning difficulties never stopped him from becoming a good scientist. These things don't. We mums know our children best.

If your son needs any info or pointers in geology matters that he's stuck on, please PM me. I'll try to help.

Love,
Patsy.

Hi patsey
sorry for not getting back sooner, Yes he is very enlightened.... now i just need to see if he's going to accept or reject it...I don't push it but neither do i miss an oppertunity to point things out to him either;). once pointed out tho i leave it & if he wants to take it futher then he /they know where I am.He's going to finish his essay today. I'm a great believer that we all have our gifts that we contribute to this world, & sometimes it takes what are classed as the "norm" going wrong to help people access their gifts.

Love & hugs Maria xxx
