Another Somerset girl here. 🙂
I have lived in Somerset for 26 1/2 years. My youngest was a baby then, which is how I remember it so precisely. Not a babe in arms exactly, for he was more often on the front, or later the back, of his father's pushbike! When we arrived, we were camping while looking for a place to rent. His father, bless him, cycling off to the launderette every so often with a pannier full of nappies .... that's how principled we were, no disposables for us!
In the meantime we acquired a car, started and stopped an organic vegetable business, raised the family, and now Mike is milking the cows next doors, though only part time.
I spend a lot of time writing a food blog, Thought for Food, see below, which amongst other things tells you what to sow and eat seasonally in Somerset. Have a peek.
We live in a tiny hamlet with a lovely church and are very happy here.

Hi, I know this is a 'longshot', but I'm hoping that there are members from the Somerset area still logging on here. I've been a member since 2003 and used to post, but life got in the way, illness etc and I've only just found myself back here!
