Hi there

I originally come from Derbyshire Chesterfield, it is sooo lovely and peaceful up there such lovely walks out on the moors and Yorkshire is not far away to enjoy the lovely views there too. There is a resevoir nearby cannot remember the name i know its not the sea but at least its calming to see the water. just as lovely as the west country but in a different way.

Hello om-shanti and littleone, not sure where this lake is, :022: will try and find it on a map. I've also visited the little village where Heartbeat was filmed (forgot what it was called now) and been to Whitby about 4 years ago when I first met Hubby. He had promised to take me to Scarborough and Skegness when we moved up in August! but so far has not come up with the goods so to speak lol. Think I'll refuse to cook his meals until he does take me - maybe that'll work. :005::rollaugh:

Hello snagglepuss 🙂 That sounds like a very good bribe to me! I think your husband should take you to Scarborough. It sounds like a beautiful part of the country indeed. The only part I have ever been to is York but I would love to travel up to see the famous Yorkshire Dales. Hmm I may make it one day!

If these don't inspire you, nothing will ... I know them all like the back of my hand 😉

and

Masses more if you just put 'Yorkshire Dales' into Google.

Hi snagglepus

sounds like a good idea not cooking. You must get him to take you to Harrogate its lovely and there used to be a wonderfulcake/coffe shop called Bettys theres one in York to don't try it if your on a diet no will power in the world could be maintained. The weather down here in cornwall is getting very cold what's it like up there? i hate to think but then i'm a real wuss are far as getting cold is concerned.

Woohoo - fantastic links Holistic, cheers m'dear. Oh yes I like the sound of Harrogate Littleone. That's it now, major bribes coming up!!!! lol :rollaugh:
It started getting cold up here quite a while before it did down there.:eeeK: I don't like the cold, hubby says I'm a soft southerner and I'll soon harden up now I'm up here. As you can tell he is a proper Northerner (bless him, I love him, really I do!):1kis:
I shall be going on those links s'afty to find some places to visit.
Oh and by the way Littleone, we go to Chesterfields car boot nearly every Sunday, that spire is a cracker isn't it?

You're very welcome! I used to live in Harrogate a long time ago, and have been a visitor since ... is Betty's still there? It used to be near the memorial at the junction of James Street [the one with the posh shops] and Parliament Street, a place locally nicknamed Pneumonia Corner ... and for very good reason on a windy day!

I have to say that although I miss the wildness of the moors and dales, I much prefer the climate down here, even though it's pretty chilly today, brrrr

Yes the church is lovely in chesterfield the question is why is the spire twisted????? there are many stories about it I think i like the one that a virgin got married in there ha ha.

Well, he took me to Skegness:eek: The wind coming off the sea was so cold it nearly froze my ears off. A few shops were open, so I enjoyed looking round those. I quite like Skeggie even though I've always teased him about it because of the sound of it's name. :011: Then he took me to Ingoldmells - everything shut and like a ghost town so we went on to Mablethorpe. Ooh I like Mablethorpe, lovely beach, the dog had such fun running in and out of the sea :dogrun: Only a couple of shops open there, but bought a nice hematite ring in the little crystal shop.
Boy do I feel rejuvenated now I've had a good walk on a beach!!!

Hello

Hi all you Devonians. Can I call myself that now I live in Devon? :dft001:Thanks to Holistic and Moongoddess for directing me to this forum. We have recently moved here (Torquay) from Herefordshire. I am finding it a little strange with so many people and houses as I used to live in the peaceful countryside but I am meeting lots of friendly people and am looking forward to meeting many more. A great bonus of living here is that we are so close to many of the great Holistic Fairs that take place in and around the area.

Ooh! dinner's ready (Oven is peeping it's head off!!) Hope to visit here again very soon.

See ya! xx:wave:

Hi there Moon Faerie. I'm sure you will love Devon, it's a beautiful part of the country (I'm originally from Plymouth). You'll find some really quaint places if you have transport and can have a gander around the area.
Have a look on this website to give you some info on places

Hello Moon Faerie  Welcome to the forum!

It is good to have you onboard and we are indeed neighbours. I live in Paignton but work in Torquay during the week.

Be good to keep in touch, feel free to pm or email me anytime. This certainly is a beautiful place, we have the benefit of living by the sea but having Dartmoor on our doorstep also for the peace and quiet. I am sure you will love it!!
I look forward to hearing more from you.:)

I am just and only just over the border in cornwall so a bit cheeky but flit from one to the other, though i did live in Plymouth for 15 years and come up at least once a week.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. Snagglepuss sounds happy!!!

Are you self employed Moongoddess? Are you busy? My ideal would be to lease a small shop with rooms at the back so I could sell my products and myself and my hubby could carry out treatments in the rooms. Ahh - maybe one day, when I am settled in my new home, hopefully getting closer now.

It is a bit chilly here today (well - a LOT chilly really but I am trying to put a positive slant on the weather)the sea looks amazing when it is a little angry. I was amazed 😮 when I saw the sea crashing up and over the beach walls a couple of weeks ago - I had to stop the car and watch. One of Mother Natures marvels.

Have a great weekend all.

;):)

Hi Moon Faerie 🙂

I work a full time job for someone else and then I also work for myself. Up until last weekend I had a little shop within Fermoys garden centre where I sold my mystical products and did readings etc. I have now given that up for various reasons. The main one being problems with the rented cabin, changes within the garden centre itself and the fact that there is not enough 'traffic' through that particular area!

It has always been my dream to have a shop with therapy rooms out the back but I cannot afford that so had to make do with what I could afford. 🙁 I will hopefully find some place else one day but for now I am continuing to sell through my website and I also run courses in Spiritual Awareness.

I hope you settle in well and look forward to hearing more from you.
