Strange animal noise

Aromababe · 2005-08-18T15:41:00Z

I was lying awake at 3.30am the other night (jet lag) and heard this very loud high pitched squealing/squeaking noise coming from an animal which sounded like it was running up and down the road. I didn't get out of bed to look out of the window as I didn't want to disturb my husband, but am intrigued as to what it could have been. I live in a suburban street. Any ideas? Lesley

I would say it was a fox.Probably a female with food on its way home to her cubs to let them know shes nearby. She does this so they do not get impatient and call for her and give their location away.
