I've read through various threads here & in the Reiki section about healing animals, & think I understand the legalities now. As a holistic therapist working with people, I'm only insured (via the FHT) to treat people. Unfortunately, the FHT do not cover animals. I'd like to know if anyone knows of any companies thatofferstandalone animal treatment policies.
I've Reiki'd my own dogs for years, but have been asked about treating others a few times recently - there seems to be more interest in this now so this is something I'd like to start doing, but I'm having a problem on the insurance side. Can anyone advise? - Thanks

RE: Animal Reiki - Insurance

I can't speak for anyone else of course, but I am insured toto giveReiki treatments, it doesn't as far as i'm aware (must look) state human / animal. But when I treat an animal I don't charge for the animal, I ask for my travel expence to be covered that is all. However I do have a friend that treats animals only with reiki, i will ask her where she is insured and get back to you on this. lyn 😉

RE: Animal Reiki - Insurance

Hi,

I have my Magnet Therapy insurance with IHS-UK and I am covered for animal treatments.

On the proposal form they ask if your insurance cover is to include the treatment of animals.

I know that Towergate cover treating animals at no additional cost. I think they give you an endorsement list that tells you what you can/cannot do but i am told that this is just general things such as getting permission from the owner, not giving injections etc.

If you are just doing reiki then this would be included to treat animals as well as people, and they do not expect you to pay extra for that. they also cover treatment of horses specifically on the policy (equine touch therapy) etc.

Hope this helps!:)
