RE: Cloud Appreciation Society
Clouds, yes.
Even if living or working or hiking outdoors, I still find that I rarely look up and appreciate clouds. It reminds me that this is a big LOL since where I live the fog is such that you can't see beyond 50 yards for the past 3 days. But that's so temporary, and the sun is up there somewhere.
I appreciate clouds most if there's time on my side and I can lie on my back. In fact I think it's essential to lie down and look up for at least ten minutes to "tune in". Finally you get to look up (on a warm day!). Clouds are then amazing, I agree.I think there's a whole science and art totally neglected here. For one thing, they are at completely different heights, so do you see how some move very slowly (seemingly)as they are high, and others near to you rush by? (They may bejust 2000 feet above!)You can even check out which way they all move, and the wind direction?
You also see moving specks which are birds at amazing heights.
And watch the cloudedges. What precisely makes them shape-shift like that, as you watch? I believe there is intelligence involved. It's a big subject I couldn't go into here as it takes books, but a net search on "sylphs" (the elementals of the air) might help. Clouds are formed, changed, and dissipated by sylphs, the elementals of the air, since there is life everywhere. It's one reason I left London for the countryside, to have places to appreciate and see Nature in action.

Great photos on the site. I remember being down on the riviera on a hot day and watching small clouds form and disappear in front of our eyes. Magical indeed!
RE: Cloud Appreciation Society
Jas, hi,
That's what I mean. You can ask yourself, what exactly is making that edge of the cloud disappear, and another part form? Is it just materialism? Read up if you have not on sylphs (I have written a book on them) and you'll get the gist.

Jeez, fog everywhere, and people coming in an hour, so why do we spend this seoson so? Well, there's nothing to do about the fog - but what I mean is, it is wonderful to just lie down and watch the sky for an hour. Even in England, in summer, it is amazing, and one would never dream that birds fly so high.
But the clouds make you swoon.
