It is so difficult to watch this happen to our loved ones - and very upsetting. I watched my Dad deteriorate and it broke my heart.
Keeping your Mum in my prayers and sending warm thoughts that she may find peace, and also to you and all who care for her.
And as star99 said, your Dad will be there all the time - perhaps your Mum is sensing that. You can still talk to him if you need to. x
