Hi sorry your partner is finding things difficult. Sending you both love and prayers for peaceful minds. Words, well, I can only add "It's best not to get too excited or too depressed by the ups and downs of life." - Dalai Lama

Hi guys
Some of you may have seen my posts in the past, although I have been absent recently (beravements, job stress etc).
My other half has had a terrible 18 months - he whistle-blew against the action of his superior (whom he believed acted illegally). He has now been absent with work related stress for over a year and half whilst they investigated his claims. In the end although they appeared to uphold his complaint they have still seen fit to dismiss him under capability issues. We are now waiting to see what recourse he has under unfair discrimination.
Whilst we understand that this is a process we need to go through, it has run parallel to him trying to sell a property which is now vacant. We are thinking that he may have no option but to take a 20-25% loss against its valuation due to the current market. This is something that as an unemployed person is very difficult to do, as he is already suffering financially.
We were having quite an in-depth discussion today, when he stated that if he ended up having to take a cut of 20+% he would turn his back on his spiritual beliefs - he said that that would be for him, not me as he knows that my beliefs are very important to me (as his are to him - it seemed more of a challenge - verbalised to spirit).
Obviously we have heard of these sort of spiritual challenges before where one has to fully put one's faith into something to come out the other side, but this has been a very hard slog, as it has been combined with the loss of my mother to cancer (over a 3 month period) and also a cousin to MS.
I know that he is at his wits end, and I am not sure what else I can offer to help him. He does acknowlege and appreciate my support, and he did reciprocate it when I needed it. There are no issues within the relationship.
I am really just asking for some positive thoughts and prayers to give him some support over the next month or so, while we see where the path has to lead . . . . .
Many thanks in advance

Hi lightworker333,
Members will be temporarily unable to contact you via email, or PM, which lasts for 5 days from your joining date and also subject to a few approved posts. Unfortuantely these contact options are the only ones permitted on the discussion forums, as members are not allowed to include their email address in posts to prevent mis-use from spammers etc.:)

Hi there everyone - many thanks for your support.
I think I notice how low he is most because I have by contrast had a couple of positives - I got a new job at a GP surgery - with hardly any hassle and it also means I can keep a day or two a week at the hospital, it seems very much like the Law of Attraction is in my favour whereas he is attracting the negatives. Unfortunately as he is low, even if he tried to think positively at the moment I don't think he would really convince himself - if you know what I mean?
Oakapple - you chose just the right phrase - I have been repeating it so much lately - What doesn't kill us makes us stronger!! It is true, and I am trying to help him to see it too!
I must report that he has felt a little more positive over the last day or so, we have got a new tatic on selling the house, and he has thought of something to re-train in, work-wise.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that things continue on the up for him as it has been such a terrible 18 months.
Many thanks for all your thoughts - I am sure that they are helping.
Much love
