The Lightning Story (enjoy!)
Here's the whole story: I was washing out the bathtub, and lightning struck on the wall right outside (adjoining to the tub mind you).
The crack was so loud, and the ground shook; I thought a bomb had hit. Scared the sh-- out of me!!! :eeeK:It hit the electrical/cable boxes which have ground wires THANK GOODNESS. So the bolt went down into the earth. The wires and connections within the boxes were all charred and melted, the wall scorched - So you see, I could've been killed. Touching water the way I was, near the metal of the faucets and spigot - And they say there's no God, ha! Can't prove it by me; ) He sent his angel to take care of me that day.:FIFangel:
I figure the divine conversation went something like this:
Devil/Evil/Darkness/Negative Energy, sneeringly:
"So there she is your servant, Jennifer. She is supposed to die today, isn't she? (Wicked laugh here) I have command over the lightning, and I think I'll send it just about now...."
Angel of God, pleadingly:
"Oh Lord - please, she has been blessing you even though things have been difficult in her life. I know you have heard her prayers of thanks, and her avowals of plenty, she has been believing in your word even though the situation looks bleak in the natural. Here, take my wings in exchange for her life. I will suffer the loss and walk like the lowliest of creatures, I will never fly to heaven again if only she can live and fulfill her potential that you have blessed her with."
Devil/Evil/Darkness/Negative Energy, Whiningly:
"Hey, wait a minute. I get to KILL her today! It's my right."
God, Supremely:
"You are the negative, the darkness; you have no rights here. She has been diligently seeking the light - she will not recognize you when you try to show yourself to her. Because I am her God and she honors me, I will allow your predestined lightning to take her computer, a few outlets and some conveniences for a while. This will cost her money but you'll see, she'll praise me even though you take these things - no, she will not allow this to steal her joy."
Devil/Evil/Darkness/Negative Energy:
"No way, she'll moan, complain, cry and say "why me"."
God:
"When my servant proves you wrong, I shall restore these "things" and bless her even more greatly."
And of course God was right.
The angel, who was willing to sacrifice for me wept with joy. God said to her, "I will not take your wings. I will give you instead raiment of gold and alabaster for your unselfish and loving act. Go now and protect her from the darkness and death."
So the sweet angel rushed down even more swiftly than the bolt of lightning from the sky. She stood with her arms up toward God, and seized the enormous, writhing, beastly surge as it struck the house. With a deafening blast of light and sound, she stood in the stead and interceded - taking the current through herself and channeling it deep into earth where it couldn't harm a soul. At that instant she was transformed into one of the High Angels, with God's holiness clothing her in purest light. She is the halo you sometimes see adorning the planets, her reflection is the Northern Lights that dance over the great northern lakes. She is my guardian angel, and she may be yours as well, who knows?
So you see, not even a hair on my head was touched.;)

Heya AM, glad you're ok.
Oddly a similar thing happened to us just a week ago. A tree fell on the electricity cables outside near our house and it caused a "neutral fault" which meant that the live electricity had nowhere to go execpt into all our appliances, effectively meaning that anything, including the water pipes and water, could be live, not to mention the fact that the voltage doubled for the duration of the fault, so all the lights went extra bright.
Fortunately all that got damaged was our answerphone, our Television aerial booster, and the boiler (yes the one we just had fitted in February). Some of our neighbours had their computer, TV, dishwasher and other things blow up.
The good thing for us was that the electricity company, whilst not admitting liability, came along and said they would fix or replace anything that was damanged for free. So everything has been fixed now.
Pain in the butt, but at least we were ok.

Hi Giles - isn't that something? Forces of nature getting two of us like that. I'm glad it only got things and not souls all around.
I have a funny theory though. For some reason electrical things are sometimes affected strangely by me. It isn't completely consistent is the problem, so I can't "prove" it.
I seem to have a negative affect on computers, cars, phones and most frequently, watches. I put one on and it dies sometimes within hours, sometimes a day or two - It happened now to I think about 7 or 8 watches. It's like I suck the very bloody life out of them or something. Do you think I attract electricity or something? Only speculation, I know - but still it's odd.

Oh Jen! You do lead an 'exciting' life lol!!! I'm so glad you were not harmed but I'm sure you have a heavenly host of Angels watching over you at the moment!
I too have strange experiences with electrical things. I'm not allowed to touch the computers at the hospital where I work because of the weird effect I have on them. Check-outs at the supermarket play up when I stand near the till and I've lost count how many times my swipe cards have upset cash machines lol! I get shocks off my car, from the WINDOWS!!!
