Just had an update. Apparently it's not her hip as first thought. It's at the top of the shaft of the femur of the left leg. I can't be more specific I'm afraid as I'm 200 miles away. 🙁

Well, the doctors called Mum this morning and said they didn't expect my grandma to make it through the op. But she did! They called Mum again to say she was sitting up having a cup of tea and they're totally amazed. So thanks to everyone on here. 🙂
Mum's taking my grandad over to the hospital this afternoon.
