I got a call at work this morning from my Mum who had just had a call to say her mum has had a fall at home and has broken her hip.
We're a three hour drive away from my grandparents, so I've come home and got a bag packed for my mum who is now on her way down there.
My Grandma, Joan, is 88. She's recently been suffering from breathlessness and had an ECG this week, the result of which we are still waiting on. With this in mind, I'm really concerned about the operation to fix her hip.
This will also be the first time in over 60 years of marriage that my grandparents have been apart for longer than one night. My granddad suffers from all sorts of ailments himself and is incapable of looking after himself so it looks like my mum will be down there for a while.
If she makes it through the op, I'm sure she'll be fine. She's a tough old boot. She walked a stretch of the Great Wall of China when she was 75! But I'm worried about her heart giving out in during the op, since we don't know if there is an issue there or not.
I hope your grandma makes a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, it is usually the children who bear the brunt of looking after others so I'm sending some Reiki to your mum as well to keep her strength up too.
Best wishes

If you point the location of fracture on a hip bone image,
I can arrange a simple Su-jok scheme to help heal.
