Natural disasters have occured, it's just something that has happened:( No blame except nature doing as what nature has done for 1000's of years. It could of happened anywhere.
Lots of people could have stood in a line, but would have it stopped the earthquake or the water that followed?

Again, apologies for the topic going away from Japan in particular, and into this side-issue (but actually maybe the most important issue) of prayer, or to put it more generally, the ability to project human consciousness in order to exert an effect for the good). However method we use.
Yes, that's my whole point. I find it chastening that human consciousness is not able these days to 'stand in a line' and stop many things happening. To fail to stop them means that - to a degree - our prayers or methods are weak in this year, 2011. Have been for centuries. But we are conscious beings, able to direct our power of consciousness anywhere in the world as great saints and sages have often done. So we may be falling short.
IMHO we have the ability to control the Elements. That's not airy-fairy writing, but probably the most practical consideration we could ever have. But we have 'forgotten' who we are, and the meaning of being Incarnate and living upon Earth. So these things unfolding in the news go on.
It's kind of what people mean, in my books, about a coming "Golden Age". In my books that would be a time when we finally rise up and become the co-workers with Earth, Air, Fire and Sea we were always meant to be; to mention one religion, as Jesus plainly was.
It's something elemental life, and animal life, just cannot do, but humans are IMHO different in that respect, as was Jesus. I mean, Jesus wasn't born as a beetle, right? But as a human. There was a reason for that.

Hi folks,
As I explained before, I started a discussion thread earlier this week on the Religion-Faiths General Discussions pages, in order to discuss prayer and how it could help Japan. Unfortunately, it was moved here and seems to have started a separate discussion about whether prayer is effective or not, or why it sometimes is and sometimes isn't and how we could do better. I really think that this thread on Japan is not the place for that discussion, so have started a new one here:

It would be helpful too, if the moderators would allow especially Venetian's and my posts on the subjects to be copied and pasted onto the new forum, as there are some really good ideas and observations here, but they don't really belong on this thread.

Regardless of which faith you follow sending positive thoughts or prayers to the spirit world is a powerful act which influences the astral planes that in turn shape our material world.
Negative thoughts and emotions bring destructive forces whereas positive thoughts of love, compassion and respect for others is a powerful creative force.
Be clear in your mind what you are praying for and focus your energies so that they become a pure, powerful and positive force for good.
A Prayer For Japan
I call upon the purest and highest of Spirit to gather together all the loving thoughts and energies being sent to the people of Japan, to guide, guard and protect them in their time of need.
I ask that you welcome home all the lost souls and guide them to their rightful place in the world of Spirit, and to touch the souls of the bereaved to ease their burden and let them know their loved ones are alive and well with family and friends who have already made the journey to the Spirit world.
I ask that a strength and determination burns within every soul that inspires the people of Japan to stand up move forward to help themselves and to help others so that the darkness that has fallen over them is quickly removed.
I ask that you inspire the workers fighting to control the nuclear incident. Help them to think clearly and work to the best of their abilities to bring the incident quickly and safely under control.
