A bit of an update. We ended up back at the vets this morning as, although he was doing a lot better and was drinking a little, he still wouldn't eat. Apart from the eating the vet was pleased with his progress so gave me another drug to help spark off his appetite. Typically, when I got him home (after a short walk in the park), he decided to eat a little without the drugs!
We stopped one of the drugs (on the vets advice) and I had a few hours out tonight while my wife looked after him but apparently he then had a turn for the worse but responded quickly to restarting that particular drug.
I don't really know where we're up to right now, the vet is still slightly mystified by the whole thing. We're back on Thursday morning to see how he's doing. My wife has managed to take the day off tomorrow so she is staying up with him tonight and I'm going to work tomorrow as the backlog of client appointments is becoming unmanageable. So, my 63 hour sleep depravation marathon is over in a few minutes time, at least for now!
