Oh, how awful for you and all the other families that are in the same situation. I don't think those in Insurance/Council etc really understand the emotional impact this kind of event has on people. It's not just about money to replace things is it?

Whiteroom,
So sorry to hear of your troubles, how awful for you. Sending you loads of positive energy. What you cannot salvage will always be in your memory. I do understand that sentimenal things cannot be replaced. The weather has been terrible, here in IRL we have had some tragedies, a plane crash in a remote location with 2 men dead (RIP),
200 children in a regata that had to be rescued (thankfully all ok) , trees down etc. At the end of the day as long are you are ok, you can replace the materials things.
