Please can you all join me in sending love, support, positivity and healing thoughts or anything you can to Whiteroom and her husband as they are going though a really testing time right now and would benefit from our support. They was unfortunately one of many who lost their homes and most of their possessions due to the recent floodings. She lost her car too and is moving into temporary rented accomodation tomorrow for at least six months until house is repaired. Her street was so bad it was featued in one of the national newspapers!!!

Big hugs to you Whiteroom - stay strong and keep smiling.

RE: For Whiteroom

Thank you, I'm having a really down day today. I just can't stop crying.

As Jo said my whole street has been effected, I was out of the country at the time it happened so I wasn't able to save anything. As of yesterday I didn't even have a single plate, cup, knife or fork to eat with, never mind a roof over my head! What I do have is a very wet, smelly house and a fantastic collection of mould growingup my walls.

My dad, bless him, waded chest deep down my street to try and save as much of my belongings but unfortunatley nothing could be saved unless it was above the 5th step on my stairs.

We wanted to get a flight home so that we could deal with things but we was told they wouldn't be able to pump out the street until the weekend so all we could do was watch the news. We saw how bad our house was, as it was in the Sun newspaper as they evacutated theeveryone in boats.

My dog was also in kennels at the time and the surrounding area flooded but the kennel block was ok. They loaded the dogs into boats to take them to dry land so that they could be exercised.

All I can say is thank god we have insurance and some very, very good friends and family, as I really don't know what I would do without them.

I'm moving into a rented house at the weekend and my mum and dad are there nowcleaning it for me. I've not got a lot to take with me, I think 1 car journey will do it! It feels like I'm just leaving home for the first time!

Thank you to everyone for their support and my heart goes out to everyone effected as I'm sure there are a lot of people who are worse off then me.

Jeanette.
