Dear Fudge, What an awful thing to happen to your hubby - Lots of Love, Light and Healing to him - and You - it'll be a job caring for him over the next few days ..... my sympathies.
I now remember why I always kept a water sprayer in the ktchen - not just for the flowers and plants, but to keep any naughty kitties controlled (if necessary) - or a jugful if necessary - the water soon shocks them to sensibility without hurting them - but haven't used it in years now. Unfortunately cats claws carry some awful germs - check your own kitty for damage too, before it all goes bad.

On Monday evening he spent 2.5 hours in theatre and this evening another 1.5 hours 🙁 I left him at the hospital sleeping off his anaesthetic. Both his hands were openned up again to be cleaned out. His left hand is looking much better (so I'm told) but his right hand will need to be openned again, so another operation is scheduled for Friday. But he dosent know this, he will be told when he comes around a little more.
He is having megga antibiotics to fight off the infection, I'm still amazed on how quick the infection spread. What I thought was just swelling, was the infection but his whole system has been affected.
As for our cat, she is doing OK. Tomorrow I'm off to the toy shop for a water pistol, apparently this will discourage any further cats venturing into our house.

So, so sorry to hear your hubby is suffering such trauma - and hope the outcome is good for both hands.
For the water spray, I use the nozzle on the jet-spray setting.

Friday update - My hubby's system is battling against the infection:( He had another op this evening, whilst his left hand has improved, his right hand still needs a lot more work. He re-scheduled for surgery on Sunday:(
Thanks for you thoughts, it does help, as I am very worried about his cancer, the hospital are also looking at this and we await the results.
It does help to share my thoughts, my husbands family are just like orstriches and wont discuss or share anything.
