Can I kindly ask for some positive thoughts for my daughter please. She is 14 and has started to get into some bother at school. It is nothing to bad at the moment but I am quite worried about her. We moved home last year and she had to change schools she seemed to settle okay and made new friends. Just over the last couple of weeks she has been very secretive and not mentioning her friends as much but is talking about new girls who dont go to school with her. She is being late for class and has been uncooperative with her teachers. She is now saying she cant cope with the work and although we have offered help ourselves and if needed we would get her some support via a bit of tutoring she is not receptive to any of this.
Her grandfather is dying of lung cancer and this is also affecting her and us as a family
I know teenage years are awful but she just looks so sad a lot of the time and I feel quite lost just now.
Any positive thoughts or prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Positive thoughts on their way Linda. On a practical note, do you have a connexions near you? The reason I ask is they offer free support to teenagers, educational, emotional etc.:)
Healing thoughts and prayers on their way to both of you. From what I remember of those years they were quite turbulent and for me I was losing my father and this can drive you inwards as you try to cope with what is going on around you. I use something called Human Design.
hello there..I just felt I wanted to say im pretty sure it could be to do with her grandfather especially if you are all close.. and with going through teenage stuff she doesnt know where to go with it all..
since losing my hubby nearly 3 years ago my two boys now 13 and 17 on monday,, the eldest one has been like that and definetly with the friends things, and coping with his dads death has been in on himself etcc..
it has been a stressful and worrying time for us to deal with too.. and i feel it does take its toll on them,
just let her know its all normal to how she is feeling, and yes ask about connexions as they have been great for my son, also you could let the school know as some schools have someone they can talk too..
tell her to try just to talk to you a little each day,or write it down.
sending lots of love to you and your daughter and family..

Terrible teens
Positive thoughts on their way. I have a partner who has three children, two of the teenagers. I think it is an exceptionally difficult time of growing up. I can recommend a book called Primal Teen by Barbara Strauch, I got it off Amazon. It basically says that the brain goes through a new growth spirt in teenage years and although they look physically like they are growing up emotionally they get easily confused and influenced by others.
Good luck.
