:grouphug: Crystal Rose,
If i were you have a word with your dads gp. its early days from having his stroke. it can take a while for him to recover. i dont know where you live but here ,i am a community counsellor on our local council and we were the very first to introduce a support worker, for the elderly. they go into the home and can help any person, needing help to get in toutch with the right channels,
its worked very well here, and i know other councils are following suit now, you could ask ,in the nean time i will continue to send Healing thoughts out to your dad.
take care
hi blackcrow he is now getting a lot of help my sister and me are taking it in turns to call each day also there is a carer going in 3 times a day, but the trouble is he wont slow down, we have to make him, my step mum is no help she just thinks of her self. if she is not the center of attention she sulks.
Crystal_rose, it is a very good idea you and your sister, learn the signs and what to look for.
Think act FAST
Facial weakness - try and get your dad to smile? Has his mouth or eye drooped?
Arm weakness - can your dad raise both his arms?
Speech problems - can your dad speak clearly and understand what you are saying to him?
Test all three symptoms
If he fails any of the above tests, you will need to seek medical assistant quickly.
You can download this poster, maybe you could print/laminate it for your dad's house, so at least then, his wife would know what to look for.

Forgot to add:
Check your dad's medication, some medicines can cause the hands and feet to suddenly become very cold. Maybe he should mention this to his docotor.
Hi Crystal Rose,
I hope your Dad is feeling better now.
I will send Absent Healing to him and all your family.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
