I have just seen the first online reference to World Environment Day which is tomorrow (June 5th).
It was in the Ikea Newsletter - but I am so surprised to not have seen references to it anywhere else and its the sort of thing that would grab my attention.
Has anyone else seen it being promoted?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and No I hadn't heard about it either, which really surprises me as I seem to be on just about every e-mailing list going and get all kinds of junk about stuff that I don't want to go to, but nothing about anything worthwhile or interesting.
Other countries seem to make a much bigger deal than us about these celebratory days. I realise that they are primarily for raising our consciousness about issues and spreading awareness, but that's how it all starts doesn't it?
Remember the WWF day back in March which encouraged us to turn our lights off for an hour one evening? Well that experience stuck with me and was so enjoyable and easy to do that I try to do it every week now. Obviously in summer you hardly notice, but it's confirmed for me how important these "days" are. Just small things can make all the difference.
Yes I read loads about Environment Day. A charity I follow called Send a Cow are always active I believe. I also came across this on The Independent site:
