Does anyone recycle the lids of glass jars?
Would you take them to the local tip for metal recycling?
🙂

We re-use ours with the jars for home made jams and chutneys. The push button ones are the best because they actually re-seal.

i put mine in the the cans and i have not been told of the collectors to do anything else, the annoying thing is when on juive cartons you get a plastic lid and the rest is card and on certain gravy granules the bottom metal, the top plastic and the middle card.

Of the jars we don't keep to re-use the whole lot goes into the recycling box. Around here they take, metal, glass, recyclable plastics (if I'm not sure I just chuck it in anyway and they can sort it), paper, card, drinks/juice cartons, and probably a few other things I've forgotten. I think the only thing we can't put in the recycling is cellophane wrapping.

I re-use my jars for all sorts in the kitchen - pasta, spices and so on. My husband takes my jars for the garage - nuts, bolts, washers etc. Anything that we don't use (which isn't much really) goes in the general recylcing as we guess that the depot will sort it all out anyway.
