Further to Game of Thrones - this from the Guardian. Game of Thrones Monopoly!
I don't know if this is a good idea or an appalling one. I certainly couldn't have thought it up!
Likewise we watch DVD's too, though don't generally go for these 'latest craze' type of shows. Seems like Game of Thrones only came about a few months ago and already they're on Season 5????!? "Cashing in" is the phrase that comes to mind. 😀
Must chip in at this point and say I love Game of Thrones. There's a shocking amount of sex and violence but it's fabulous entertainment, intricate plots, brilliant characters (lots of them), decent budgets and proper acting. It's not throwaway TV - you have to concentrate.
There are 5 books in the series far and two more planned but George Martin the author takes about five years to produce each book so maybe the TV show will have to take a break next year.

The books have been known for much longer, however. The first one was published in 1996 - won the Locus Award and the Hugo in 1997 and was nominated for World Fantasy and Nebula Awards the same year. Anyone who reads fantasy will have known them for a long time.
As for people who don't read fantasy - well, there's no real hope for them, is there? 😉

And George Martin isn't well, so let's hope he gets to finish the series.
Sex and violence - yes, isn't there? Not that I mind either except I think a lot of it is gratuitous (and a lot of full-frontal and every other view of the women but we've yet to see a penis - even when it's chopped off and in a box).
