does any one know about a book called the secret? I'm trying to find out more about it?
Not that I've actually read it myself, but "The Secret" is about the so-called 'Law of Attraction". I hired the DVD and started to watch it, but fell asleep - i.e. I found it less than compelling. If you look on www.amazon.co.uk and search for it, you can read the reviews and even "look inside", which means you can read an extract.
"The Secret" is a re-packaged common wisdom - "what you focus on is what you get". I personally feel that has been rather over-hyped and is making its creators unjustifiably huge amounts of money (I use the word "unjustifiably" because the idea is certainly not new or original - and definitely not unique or "secret" - you can find plentiful information in similar vein on the internet - or may be I am just being jealous! ;)). There are some useful elements in it, but the basic idea is that focusing your attention on what you want is preferable to thinking of what you don't want!

There must already be four threads on HP about this now, if you do a search on these forums. Long threads with differing opinions. Mine being quite negative TBH as it's a materialistic method lacking Divinity. And it's no "secret" - it's all been known for thousands of years.
