Long title, but it just about sums it up... So - any ideas on what to do when your inner child is being a brat?
I've been musing over my continuing reactions to certain people in my life and on-going changes and although the spiritual 'adult' has a handle on it, my 'inner brat' is determined to wallow in 'that's a load of crap!' attutides, which is really doing my head in! Give you an example - I've learnt the way forward, I understand and have felt the joy of living a more complete life and I have all the right tools... so why do I have this 'f - off' attitude pulling me down right now? [&:] URG!!
Apologies, but that's the best way to describe this...[8D]
Anyone? 🙂

Maybe you are too in control and your inner child (I dont think is a brat) is trying to tell you to let go a little?
Sometimes being in control can hinder us from learning the lessons we need to move forward?
This is just a few thoughts that popped into my mind while reading your post

Funny you should say that, Amber ;), that was the very thing she was telling me as I wandered around the house earlier, arguing with myself!
[8D] I was asking my 'brat' why the dragging of heels and arguements when we had the proof that the 'new' way works! Back came the reply that it wasn't fun... [:'(] So we had a wee discussion around that and yes, I am too serious much of the time!
Hmm... if you speak to your inner child and she answers, does that mean you're crazy?! [8D]

Hi Moonfeather,
The first thing you must do is stop calling her names, sit & chat with her because she is the one with the answers as to why your reacting to certain triggers around you. There are three aspects to our psychie not just adult & child. The parent aspect of ourselves also plays a big part in our growth or lack of. When all is fine & nothing has gone askew in our childhood all these aspects live in harmony with each other. Sadly though most of us have some form of history in our up bringing so our parent adult child becomes Damaged child damaged parent & ineffective adult. At times the damaged parent remains critical & controling , over the child.. then the child can react. Each times tho when the child reacts there is an underlying reason .. something that happened in childhood to cause embarressment, fear, humiliation to name a few of possabilities. the reason is not always remembered consciousley.. hence why i suggest you sit down & get to know her she has the answers. because of the battle going on with the damaged child & parent, or even just the emotions of the child.... & the ineffective adults lack of control, sets up a huge conflict when the triggers are met. There are some good books on the market about these things. Games people play is a good one .
Hope this helps a little
Love & hugs Maria xxx
