Spirit Guides/Ascended Masters/Archangels

Hi Has anyone here managed to clearly communicate with their spirit guides? I would really appreciate it if anyone can offer advice on how to strengthen the communication and understanding of these relationships. I mean what use is a guide if you can't hear or see them?! lol I know I sound a little frustrated, that is probably because I am...it seams to me that I ask for guidance at this particularly difficult time, but can't 'feel' anything. I recently had my aura checked and there was a lot of green and yellow, with splashes of white (which I am told was spirit). The only thing that I have read is that your highest thought is the path to take, but when you are not on a path and there is no direct question how do you find the light? Any thoughts appreciated. :D Desiderata
