they say science and spirtualism are opposites but in a logical way science supports spiritualism einstien says when we die we turn to energy and energy cannot be destroyed it just changes but isnt that the same for matter you cannot destroy it it just changes so basically we continue to exist in one form or another but what i am driving at is what we see in life we do not believe and when we realise it may be true then we wonder at the meaning of life is there a god ?? are there many??? who is to say what is right religion has become so institutionalised that it is more of a busineness than a way for people to reach their faith i know some people need faith i personally have had a bad experience with religion but have always felt the spiritual although i denied it for many years {actually feared it} has anybody felt this way and can you tell me where to start {i tried relaxation a couple of years ago and found myself looking down at my body i sh*t myself so never tried again }. any advice would be most welcome i think logically so the obscure freaks me out but have realised in the last week on hp nothing is set in stone ha ha i need to release and feel my own spirit
RE: science v spiritual
Bruce Lee said, "Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless." This doesn't just apply to martial arts. The thing is, you have to learn a lot about a particular system before you can decide what is useful and what is useless. Take the Bible for instance. You could just disregard it as poppycock fantasy to help market Christianity. Whether this is true or not, if you study it in-depth, there are a lot of concepts covered between the lines that give a good clue as to how to progress on a spiritual level.
RE: science v spiritual
kaotik,
There was a thread on this subject some time ago.
Science cannot exist without the spiritual, and vice versa. I have come across many intriguing aspects of spiritual life, and realise that there must be a scientific explanation for all of them, even ghosts and the power of healing. If we can accept that we on Earth and the planet itself are all part of a mysterious and ever-changing Universe, then not only is everything possible, but probable when science can explain the mysteries.
I like a little mystery, myself.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: science v spiritual
Hi Kaotik
have always felt the spiritual although i denied it for many years {actually feared it} has anybody felt this way and can you tell me where to start {i tried relaxation a couple of years ago and found myself looking down at my body i sh*t myself so never tried again }.
Sounds like you are going through an interesting time in your personal development and I would say: go for it!!! I can understand being surprised by your out of body experience, and I would think that a good way forward would be to start by accepting that you don't know what you are capable of at this stage. Perhaps finding a group or a teacher you can work with will provide you with a sound base to start exploring from and will enable you to be guided through your experiences without freaking yourself out - it may also help just to know that other people have similar experiences and being able to talk about them will help.
You now have the opportunity to make a leap or to stay safe, in the world that you know. I know which one I would choose!!!!
