RE: Newbie looking for help!

Hi Dori 😀

There are ways you can consolidate your receptive gifts while you're waiting for the right time to arrive. I guess you've done a lot of reading around the subject, but for what it's worth here's an idea or two.

Try getting up (and going to bed!) half an hour earlier, and start your day sitting in a special spot you've chosen. Light a candle (I light three tealights and a stick of incense, but I'm a big nelly.) You can find inner stillness and raise your vibration by quietly using a little mantra, especially useful if your busy head wants to yadda on. Make up something that feels true to you - "I am all Love", "All is perfect", "Fill me with Love" are inward whispers I used to use, though I mostly visualise things at the moment. Be aware of your breathing - breathe slow and soft into the belly, rather than into your chest. See your breath as made of light, and yourself enclosed in an eggshell of golden or white light which you reinforce with every out-breath. There are so many techniques, but IMHO if you can work to just BEING in the present moment, being Love, your vibrations will be so clear and your mind so calm that Spirit of the best kind will align with your vibration easily, while nothing heavy or base will be able to get near you.

Only one word of warning: if you are meditating or having still time daily, beware of stopping suddenly as the lack of it will leave you feeling pretty rough! Consistency is the key. (A bit like chocolate really, only the joy of chocolate doesn't last quite as well.)

Let us know how you get on!

Love and light

Hi Dori

I've been thinking about your situation, which is similar to one I've encountered many times in the past 3 or 4 months in various people and various places. I've ended up writing something of a splurge, un-asked, and it's maybe a bit of an imposition, so please don't read it if you feel you would rather not, and discard anything I suggest that doesn't feel absolutely right to you. I kind of wanted to throw these thoughts out into the arena and see what the reactions were, aside from anything else...

You clearly have beautiful gifts and I'm sure you're in for some wonderful experiences as they begin to unfold.
My own 2 rules of thumb ( - to each their own - ) is to try to do the spiritual/healing work that is given to me (or 'comes to me') before spending energy going out looking for more; and secondly to prioritise the development of gifts that will help others over ones that I might myself find more exciting or exotic.

As you clearly have several gifts of different kinds and seem already to have been led to work as a healer, I'd suggest that this is probably one of the priorities where your Soul Purpose is concerned. In other words, your soul has got you doing it without waiting for your persona to work it out ;). So that's maybe one to keep at - and massage is a beautiful way to give someone a spiritual healing who would not normally seek it. Just don't tell your insurers!

As far as communicating with spirit is concerned, here are a couple of ideas for your melting pot.

Thinking about the intended purpose of mediumship, there are several possible purposes that people state.
One is to comfort the bereaved by giving contact with the departed loved-one, so that they can accept the situation and get back on with the rest of their own lives. Personally I think this is the best reason for communicating with the recently dead and, given the nature of it, is best conducted quietly in private.
Another is to give 'proof' or 'evidence' of life after death. I must confess here to an opinion which some HP-ers may disagree with and I apologise at once for any offence unintentionally given. I think most people are beyond that situation nowadays, as belief comes so often through heart rather than mind. If the audience includes determined materialists, they will not be converted by a spiritualist service. If people are listening who already believe in the afterlife, then the spirit energy used to convince them should be employed in more urgent work and the believers should be thinking "What next?", moving from belief in the afterlife to action in the present, rather than waiting to be excited by more messages about aunty Joan's photograph album.

The third purpose for mediumship or channelling might be to bring through uplifting wisdom and healing energies from higher spiritual sources than our own. Such messages can help people towards faster spiritual growth and help the evolution of humanity in little but wonderful ways. This is to my mind the next step for spiritually inclined listeners who already have belief in the afterlife. It does however mean, of course, that the medium / channel must attune to a far higher vibration than the recently dead. Dying doesn't suddenly make us incredibly wise and loving! (Though I'm sure it helps in that direction...) The highest vibration possible is where we should be getting our information, ideally.

You see where I'm going? If you're going to use these beautiful gifts well, it's worth thinking about what kind of work will most benefit the people you work for and what kind of work feels like it's 'meant' for you. Giving readings from the client's energy field, with tarot etc or without, can be very helpful to a client, and many people find tarot good to get them started but will then move on to pure intuition without needing cards.
However, your gifts almost certainly allow you to channel from spirit, as well as more simply tuning in to a human aura. Maybe your vocation is to work with the recently dead to comfort the bereaved (in which case

Hi Dori

When the time is right for you things will start to happen, meditation is a good way to start to develop your gifts and also to learn ho you are and what direction you need to be travelling in. There are lots of different paths and it may be that you need to travel down a few before your find the right direction.

I have been lucky (or unlucky) that I have found a path that is right for me, but it has been hard going as it is all self taught (well cept for the reiki and healing elements), I started when very young and still get lost and beweldered along the way but I have a lot of learning to do in this life.

My only advice is to go and do what you feel is right - it might be that you find the spiritulist church is not for you and will find a better and more fulfiling aspect but what ever you do I wish you well on your journey

With love

Dori

are you aware of [link= http://www.collegeofpsychicstudies.co.uk/index.html ]The College of Psychic Studies[/link]?

well worth having a look if you are in London, to see if you resonate with their teaching.
