A little confused..I need to think..
In my experience everything is a sign.
The more our awareness expands and the deeper we begin to relate to reality we can start to see that the whole of existence is like a web, or matrix of interconnected energy. Hearing what one person may say, opening a book at a seemingly random yet significant page, seeing something on a TV, watching a flower bloom, whatever it may be, everything is a sign. It just depends on whether we are aware of what that sign is telling us.
More obviously, our life experiences are a sign too. Every one holds within it a message that we can learn from if we have the awareness.
The first question I always ask to myself in any given situation, no matter what it may be, is, "what is the message I am being given here, what can I learn from this?"
The term 'spiritual synchronicity' is what is used to describe what you are talking about. Nothing is a coincidence. Every thing has purpose. 😉

So true in my opinion. Each situation you learn from. Thank you for this post. Reminded myself of how incredible life is and the twist and turns that keeps us challenged and pleasure of simple joy.

How depressing! No beautiful random chance at all?
Of course, being shamanic, I am in a position to go and ask directly if something is a sign - this makes life so much more simple. And I can set up 'signs' with the spirits that I regularly interact with - for example, my house spirit will set the mugs in the kitchen swinging on their hooks if she needs to talk to me. Then I can visit her.
