not sure if i'm in the right place but here goes...
The expression tempting fate got me wondering....... if it really is FATE can we really tempt it??
if fate is pre destined ( which is my understanding) surely what ever happens will be regardless of what I say or do? so can we really tempt fate or is fate no existent? i believe we can manifest all we wish for but believing we are worthy of such delights & abundance is the trick to this i feel. Freewill this too is an interesting point, if it is FATE do we really have choice? See personally i totally agree with how we can mould the energy with our words & make the picture in our heads materialise into form. It's really no different than an artist painting the picture in his/her head & transferring it onto paper/ canvas. However i do believe FATE is predestined & cannot really be tempted, fate is what will be will be & i believe that these things we set into motion before we incarnated onto this earth to guide us & push us along the path we have chosen.

I like this statement/Question .. I feel it has something to do with TIME & when it was manifested, perhaps in some ways our thought is not so much the manifestation in the here & now but in the there & then. The unlocking of something we have pre programmed to happen at certain times in our life, Fate i think is one of those words that is used very flippantly in our lives with out any real understanding of it's rhyme or reason?? i really don't know??
Perhaps the original question should of been if Fate is a series of predestined occurrences waiting to happen on the recognition of certain codes thoughts. Then is it possible to influence & change our fate? or will it be that no matter what we do in life it will always be fate??

phew...I'll atempt to put my thoughts in...
I believe in fate to a point...when you meet up with someone you haven't seen for a while or meet a partner or a friend for the first time for instance...things that some people would call chance I would think of as fate...so yes...I believe in fate!!
Then is it possible to influence & change our fate?
Yes I believe it is....to use a rough example...If I was to read the Tarot cards for someone I don't beleive that I can see into their future only obsticals/happening that can present themselve so therefore it's merely a warning in the same sence as be careful crossing the road...for warned that Ive seen a car comeing beacuse I've got a better veiw of the road ahead .... I personally don't feel anything in life is writen in stone...we all have the power to change our 'life path' (even if it seems impossible at the time it can still be done) & I believe we only take what we chose....to me it's how you look at things....cup half empty or half full theory.
In my life alot has happend where I would call it fate....BUT...with all things I could of ignored them & they would of never materilised into a part of my life....I think what I'm saying is choice is something we all have along with fate....to thow you life into the hands of fate wouldn't be the wisest of things to do. (:eek:hhuumm but just typing that has got me wondering about fate & children...I'm old enough to choose...:eek:)

I would say you CAN tempt fate....it's the same as the saying 'be careful what you wish for' ....like sending out your thoughts to the universe....:eek:
I know I haven't covered your post too well (I'm trying to keep an eye on my 2 year old whilst type....it's never a good idea but my best chance to play on the computer B4 the rest of the family come home;))

How do you guys feel about ourselves being responsible for our own fate? Our thoughts determine our fate? If we think of something bad happening to us, something bad will. If we think of something good etc... I believe we all have a life plan and people come into our lives for a reason but its up to us how to get to our goals and indeed those people....
