Have you bought a battery powered watch lately?
You know that little plastic tab that they slide in the battery compartment to keep the contacts from touching before you buy the watch? That’s like ego.
It keeps the watch from doing its intended task—telling time—and stops the battery from providing the energy needed for the watch to work. It can still sit there and look pretty, but it's not doing what it was designed to do.
