It was recently suggested to me that my guides were comfort blankets.
That I used my guides to go to, as an escape route when the going got tough.
An escape route from the reality of life.
I was also told to "Get real".
This hurt. A lot. I thought I was doing okay,
plus I felt comfortable with my perspective of things.
But there is some truth in comfort blankets, isn't there?
There has to be a point where - what you believe,
what you know to be true,
has to either.....be real
Or be just a very nice fantasy.
So, to the "Get real" bit.
I am now, going to allow Spirit to participate with me,
in life, fully, as it is lived.

Dont internalize the words of others. As always you must look within to evaluate your standing with all that is. The demons of others have power only when you allow it.
Getting real, in the sense of Spirit, is to accept ONLY Love and to reject anything that is not Love. That also applies to the things that you believe about yourself.

I don't know about you Twizzle, but my guides often challenge my preconceived ideas and make me question my whole way of conducting my life - in that sense a comfort blanket they are not!
On the other hand, I have been really down and exhausted and have been 100% totally supported by them - so I guess what I'm trying to say is they are there when we need them, but they are also there to help us move along our path, whether that's a comfortable thing for us to do or not
Your friends reaction is simplistic though not entirely unexpected - I'm sure I would have said the same before I understood[&:] - possibly sounds like she could have some jealousy there too.
Whatever the motivation, at least you know your guides are there to support you, whether anybody likes it or not.
