I have seen some very good examples of that in South Africa...

I have been trying to help a person solve many difficult issues in their life, they appear not to be learning from what i am trying to encourage/advise. It has cost me both emotionally and physically. This has been going on for several months and there appears to be little move forward on the path of the other person. And there is ceratinly no move forward for myself infact the reverse.

For myself i felt that i was putting out good energy to help and encourage this person, even though there was a cost.

I have just begun to realise that there has to be a time doesnt there? when you have to resign yourself to the fact there is nothing else you can do and it may be best to let the person start to deal with things without your input, beacuse of the emotional cost to yourself and it may possible be holding you back on your own path.

I have been thinking hard on these things today, which is why i felt the need to ask the question.
Maybe when i could see little progress in the other person that was the time to give up but instead i persisted in trying to get the person to see the wrong in what they were doing and in effect was stopping them from learning themselves.
It was maybe also my own ego of needing to be needed that made me continue.

After your post i can now see really i am trying to blame the other person for the lack of movement on my own path due to the bad karma they are creating by their own actions in their life but i can now see i also have created my own bad karma by not paying more attention to what was needed.

Am i getting nearer???

Of course we do try to help people - that's a part of being good. However, there's an art to discerning those who are ready or wanting to be helped, those who are not.

When it comes to spiritual growth or moving more into truth or Light, in the end no-one can do it for you but yourself, and a 'teacher' of mine has stressed over and over what an error it is to hold oneself back in trying to carry another along. They do have to do it themselves. As he would put it, "If you want to wait to take another with you into your attainment you must be prepared to wait a virtual eternity. And none of your waiting or holding yourself back will help them an inch. You help all most by moving on yourself."

more of my understanding( as a human I hasten to add;))

Karma broken into sub categories such as truth and wisdom freewill, Justice , love, mercy it can be gained in one lifetime or over many each time we go back through the veil, we take with us our karma which is weighed up so to speak, like on the journey to Osiris. All karmic masters will know how or if you intentionally did what you did if lessons were learned from it. Karma is not a bad thing really .. hard , difficult at times yes, but bad no how can it be we learn so much from it… the actions leading up to a negative karmic experience can be extremely difficult for many, but the difficulty really only comes when we fight these learning’s when we get stuck in the illusion of pain and failure……such is the intricate balance of karma, it is so interweaved that the painful experience for one may in actual fact be the saving grace of another. So cleverly & selflessly is this system set up as we sit before the Karmic board pre incarnation , where other souls that are a similar path may agree to help you or indeed have walked this part of the path before & mastered it so skilfully that they agree to do this again to help other souls. Your situation Beth may be that you are not so much creating Bad Karma ( remember Karma is good also) but are paying back some form of debt, or learning not to interfere not to push your beliefs upon another no matter how inadvertently & well intentioned it may be……. It may be that both of you have things to balance out here or that it was not for you to teach the lesson but to learn it. Sometimes our own need to help to heal , will stifle the healing process of another, we need to be very aware of our motives , It is like any process, we can only give another the tools to heal themselves, we cannot do it for them , Self responsibility is an im portent lesson for many & where as it is ok to offer help to give advice be loving & supportive it is not ok to force our will onto another, Sometimes the things we come to experience to learn from are very diverse. It sounds to me like this is the message you are receiving presently .. I have done it & I expect many others on this board have too. Thought I knew what was right for another & ive experienced a few hard lessons because of it. As for the other people?? Well it was them teaching me not the other way around But still they were learned. Now I speak my mind with love & my truth in my heart (each of or truths will be different a we each walk different paths with different things to experience & learm) leaving the other person to take or leave what is or isn’t good for them. Don’t be afraid of Karma, really it’s just a set of rules. A very complex set of rules. The Karmic masters are very much aware of humanity & what we face, they know us as individual souls & what is in our heart. It is said that the more highly evolved one is the faster Karmic balance will come. So if you’ve been horrid to someone or what ever then the lesson will come back to you fast or if you’ve been especially good to someone then the same is true, your rewards will be fast.
