RE: Aren't Horoscopes Harmless?
I'm in the middle here as in a cosmic scale there is such a thing as astrology. Several past threads on this of course... And one either fumes or laughs at BAC stuff of course...
But when it comes down to mundane horoscopes - perhaps we healthily take them less seriously now, yet in the 1930s Saint Germain released a very powerful message against horoscopes in "The 'I AM' Discourses Vol. 3" through Guy Ballard, and I go along with it as I go along with the Master. To paraphrase, his New Age message was almost as strong as a BAC one, stating that no good ever derived from horoscopes. He cited instances of that time in which peoples' negative horoscopes had needlessly led to great ill. He basically said that no good at all came from them. Now, I know this is strong and don't mean to upset ... I'm paraphrasing and it has led to years of discussion between those of us who have read it.
Our conclusion is basically that 12 Solar Hierarchies release 12 energies of God from the Sun. These energies are all of God, and there is no negativity anywhere at all. So you have God-Love, God-Wisdom, etc. Horoscopes are something Saint Germain strongly warns against since they introduce negativity. As we are all God-Beings we do not have to be prey to any negative energies; if we buy into it then it's buying into the idea that we don't have power over the energies. So we forget all horoscopes and accept ourselves as essentially 100% God - who is master over all of that.
Now where's the smiley of hiding behind the sofa, for I'm going to be out on a limb with this one! 😀 It's a very tough subject and hard to agree on when strong messages like that are given, and I'm actually toning down his words! Since I haven't therefore for decades had an interest in horoscopes, I'm very cool over it (not heated) and it's just an intellectual question to me: I certainly don't judge anyone.
Now back to the tabloid forecasts for me today...

RE: Aren't Horoscopes Harmless?
I know someone who, in my not so humble opinion, is a little too wrapped up in horoscopes. I personally see astrology as interesting, perhaps accurate, but much like the tarot--as a tool for insight...not something to run your life by. That is the only place where i htink danger comes in--when you put too much stock in something in order to avoid having to make decisions for yourself--but then, for some people religion does that as well...so it's just up to thei ndividual and how they "use" it in their lives.
RE: Aren't Horoscopes Harmless?
good point crystarra and tottaly agee
For me
for me most people that do astrology and numbers and card readings if they are not using them for tuning in are stating facts form books or learning and how can that be evil
But in “tuning in” to me its where the intention is like a healer can do voodoo and is up to the reader or healer and some may call it evil
But the mass conciseness is changing in that thinking to the ocult 😉
RE: Aren't Horoscopes Harmless?
I suppose horoscopes and astrology are each not just one thing. For example, there's tabloid astrology, more advanced horoscopes (which in my opinion are still needless or can place negative suggestions), and all the way through to a high cosmic science which few practice today.
When it comes to personal horoscopes, to me they can be considered needless as IMHO one cosmic law is that you become what you put your attention upon. If someone spends 2 hours a night watching TV soaps, their character will be effected; if someone reads the lives of the saints it will spiritually inspire them, etc, etc. So if we put our attention upon horoscopes we are creating the flow whereby the 'energy' or suggestions placed there will enter us: so, yes, then they may come true. On the other hand, if we meditate and keep our attention totally upon the Divinity, as a Spirit and as all that is Divine upon earth, then we can be on a higher level wherein the predictions in typical horoscopes can't reach us. That's my 'take' anyway.
I've met an author of books on Chinese astrology. He's a very sane and sensible man in most respects. But he not only writes, but also practices, that certain days or weeks can be calculated to be really bad to move in a certain direction e.g. East. It makes me wonder how he ever gets around his city! And if he mistakenly walks out his door and walks West for ten yards, does he allow himself to return home (East) in that week? 😀 So it's at points like this that astrology becomes silly and superstition.
😉 On superstition, I met a friend at a large MB-Spirit show once, in the cafe there. "Wonderful isn't it", he moaned, "I went to a palmist and everythng, just everything was doom and gloom. So I went to another one , but that was just as bad." - whereupon he spilled piping hot coffee over his hand. [&:]

RE: Aren't Horoscopes Harmless?
that to me sounds like someone who is taking it too far. Anything can be be taken to an unhealthy extreme...even "spirituality"
but dismissing everything in the category because of those extreme's is hardly fair.
On the otherhand, I do think that there is a lot to be said for self-fulfillng prophecy. This is true for any sort of advice though. I look at tarot, astrology, numerology, palmistry, etc. etc. etc. as advice only--same as psychology actually. Not predictions. And like any advice, it's subject to the biases, fears, philosophies, and beliefs of the one giving the advice...In my opinion, any astrologer or other ummmm metaphysical advice giver (don't know what to call it all...lol) who claims that the future is settled is being irresponsible. and so is someone who just foresees doom and gloom...there are people like that who we are always going to encounter. it doesn't matter how they channel their advice, some people are always going to tell you that your life sucks.
so I guess to sum myself up...yes, astrology can be taken to an unhealthy extreme. but as long as some balance and perspective is maintained, I don't see the harm in it.
If all I ever did was read about saints and spirituality, I think i'd still get unbalanced--this is why I feel totally justified in watching desperate housewives! lmao
