Hi,
From a previous thread I went on a tarot website and picked 10 cards which were placed in a celtic cross spread. It explained the present, distant/near past, future etc. It all maked sense to be honest - especially about what happened in the past.
However I bought a tarot book yesterday. I did ask in a previous thread about which was good book for beginners but no-one replied. To my surprise the celtic cross in the book was different. The shape was the same but some of the placings were different e.g. in the spread on the website card 3 is the future whereas in the book card 6 is the future. I'm really confused now.
I did try and put the website cards in the order that it stated in the book but it didn't make sense - as the past and future were swapped. On the website cross it said that my past was unhappy (and gave details) which is correct and that my future is happier. When i placed the website cards on the cross in the book (e.g. placing cards 1,2,3,4, etc in the spread order of the book) the spread said my past was happy (wrong) and that my future is unhappy ???
Hi Happygirl,
Books will differ in their interpretation of the Celtic cross, where i would say stick to the one you feel comfortable with.:)

Thanks calla Lily. 🙂
Hi again HP, personally I'm not a fan of 'how to' tarot books so I'm unable to truley recommend you one but I'm sure someone else here can:)
The celtic cross does differ slightly..my own way is probably very different to others but it works for me:)...when you buy a set of tarot often they come with a book or booklet that will give you some spreads, just go with what you feel most comfortable with, also you can try and make your own spread up. Tarot is funny, you do sort of develope your own way with them
