Would really appreciate any tips from experienced tarot readers who a used to working in public places. This Saturday I have a 3 hours tarot reading stint at my local coffee shop - proceeds to charity. I've only ever done a reading one at a time and not that many even face to face!!!
It will be quite a busy enviroment though I have told the manager where I need to sit and what sort of table to have etc in order to make it as comfortable as possible and as private as possible. He says I can even light a candle if I wanted to and to hell with H&S!!lol!!!
ANY advice whatsoever would be welcome - I am getting quite nervous and keep thinking 'what if my mind just goes blank?!!' eek!!!

How exciting, you will love it once you get started.
One thing I would recommend you have is a clock! That way you can time the readings and have a valid excuse to wind things up after say 10 minutes, you can just point to the clock. It is always better to take names I think than have a queue all watching over each others shoulders, and that way the seeker can browse the shop or show etc or in this case have a coffee and cake, and be assured they will get their reading when its their turn, so take a pen and paper too or raffle tickets and read in order.
Make sure you really know your deck, maybe take two? I like the Universal Waite and the New Vision so you can see both sides of the card, a great talking point and so far, touch wood lol, I have never clammed up...(me speechless? Nahhh Never lol!) Are you going to ask the seeker to shuffle or allow them to touch the cards at all? Decide before you go.
For short, quick, 'speed' readings f2f I use majors only, they give more insight to an overall picture and have a deeper meaning, choose a quick spread, I find that 3 cards is very good, not past, present, future, but positions to fit their question 🙂
Good luck, oh, and don't forget to move occasionally and breathe lol!
Would love to hear how you get on 🙂
When doing a lot of face to face readings it can be quite energy draining.
I always have a glass of water as my throat goes dry do to talking too much. It also gives you an excuss after every so many readings to stretch your legs, refil your glass and pop to the loo.
Keep an eye on time but also don't panic and think you have to rush too much and remember you will get someone difficult to read. Your only human you can't connect with everyone.
And most of all - Enjoy yourself.
Good luck
Jeanette
