i have read through both of the links you included Azalia, and they are passionate in places!
i personally believe that spirituality comes from the soul and that the physical body in which we inhabit needs fuel to enable it to continue to transport us through our time in life. i also believe that all living things should be given respect, as each and every thing alive on this planet has an energy that filters into the universal consciousness that we all came from and go back to.
i think the answer to my question (for me) is that it is up to the individual to decide what works for them.Personally, i think the inclusion of a little meat in a healthy balanced diet will not alter my ability to work with spirit in a respectful and harmonious way.

And IMO, that is totally the correct answer. i.e. you have made your own decision.
