So, this morning I am sitting in my minute 'offce/feral kitten foster room' surrounded by my business stuff and cat litter (nice) when I heard my phone ring in a 'I'm rather far away' sort of way. I get up 20 minutes later to look for it. Bemused because I can't find it on the chair I am sitting on, I remove the cushion and look under, but it's not there. I go all around the house twice, back in the office and back out again, returning once more and there is the phone sitting on chair. What's that all about then? Am I going senile or is something afoot?

Senile is not when you can't find your mobile phone - senile is when you forget that you have a mobile phone.
Incidentally, if it's a mobile, the easiest way to find it is to phone it. And if it's a cordless, most have a 'locate' button on the base-station, which instructs the handset to beep for you. If it's a corded telephone and you still can't work out where it is, there's no help for you, adn the only thing I can suggest is to become a hermit:D
