Hello... I had a horribly disturbing dream this morning.

I was out with my sister and while I was talking to her, my teeth started falling out. It was just one, and then later, another, then it was all of them (excpet my front ones) falling into my hands, and after a while as I looked at my teeth in my hands, they had messages on them, and one of them said I had lots of different personalities and I was losing the plot... with my brother and sister watching me and looking really sorry for me and trying to tell me to just go along with it..

Phew!!! I woke up and was so distressed and was checking my teeth were still there. THey were!!!

Anyone shed any light on this? I have been looking on dream websites and some of them say its to do with beauty (i don't believe that) and others say death and others say control. I don't know what to believe. I know each dream means different things to different people but I don't know what to make of this.

Cheers! x

RE: Teeth and personality

Hi Mir,

Welcome to the club, there might only be the two of us, but I've had some horrifyingly disturbing teeth dreams in my time! Usually I seem to have two or three on consecutive nights and then a month later I might have a couple more.

I agree that interpretations for teeth are varied, but having done a bit of dream analysis before, and working with thesignificance ofteeth on a metaphysical level, this is what I've come up with. See if any of it resonates with you...

Teeth
Energetically, teeth are associated with the root chakra, the chakra which governs our physical structure- skeleton, bones, teeth, cartilage etc. This chakra is associated with our basic needs, and is said to connect us to the very foundations of our life, and those fundamental needs for physical survival such as family, feelings of security and our home on Earth. Having dreams about the teeth falling out are indicative of current changes in our life causing our structure and what we have known and grown comfortable with, falling away as we rid ourselves of outmoded concepts and ways of being. This can be terrifying at first, and can evoke fears for physical survival, abandonment by the group, loss of order, confusion, stability and also identity, with the dreamer feeling insecure withthe identity of the self, and identity within a group.

Dreams dealing with loss are whatI term transition dreams-we have to lose or letgo of somethingin order to create something new. Therefore while dreams in which you lose teeth can be very frightening, they are actually very positive and it's a sign you're discovering new aspects and strengths inside yourself and developing new ideas and concepts that are creatinga newinner world for yourself.

Hope that helps!

RE: Teeth and personality

Oh, I hate those teeth dreams! I've had those before, and I'm always relieved when I wake up to discover I still have all my teeth. This is from my dream book:

Teeth: Grinding up, tearing something into little pieces in order to digest it; beginning the understanding process. Strength, intention; put some teeth into your position. Discussion. Need to verbalize. If teeth are falling out, you are unable to understand a problem or situation; something is too tough to swallow.

That explanation has always proved spot on for me. Hope it helps you. 🙂

Hi Mir,

Glad that I might have helped you in some way.

As for death, it's really nothing to fear. In dreams it'shardly evera premonition because dreams speak to us metaphorically/figuratively, not literally! Dreams of death are about transition, about some part of ourselves dying to give way for something new.

Az x
