Recently I have had several dreams in which someone is pursuing me with the intention of harming me and often attempting to kill me. I have had 3 separate dreams where someone has tried to a. shoot me b. stab me and c. made a bomb threat to me in several other dreams I am trying to get away from someone chasing me and these usually involve me having to try to escape from somewhere difficult eg having to cross the top floor of a warehouse, on the outside, by edging acrossthe window ledges. Weird? or is there some meaning here?

Hi Angel,Im no expert on dreams but have been studying their possible meanings,to dream of being killed may point to some factor in the dreamers life that is stifling or could mean a feeling of helplessness.Trying to escape may also signify a chance that has been taken or could be beneficial to take in life,
On a broader view it may be that in real life you are not able to escape from some situation or fear doing so and the dream is allowing you to do that which you desire.
Hope this helps xx

Hello angelfriend,

There is nothing weird about your dreams and I'm sure the majority of people have experienced similar at some time during their life.

It is important to remember dreams are not literal, but they are an interpretation of your emotional state. So what you see and experience in your dream is a symbol or metaphor of what your are experiencing in real life.

The person your are trying escape from is the cause of your anxiety. In real life you have been suffering from anxiety over something and you are not able to see your way through. The methods of attack suggest that you have looked and tried various ways to resolve the problem, but none of them have succeded, leaving you all the more stressed.

The complexity of the escape routes in the dreams suggest that you see this problem or combination of problems as something that requires a lot of thought and concentration which in turn increases your level of stress.

It is important that you deal with your anxiety because it will hold you back and cause other problems. Sometimes it builds in the background and we don't know it's there until we experience the symptoms. These dreams may be the warning to alert you to do something about it, but it may also be confirmation that this has been going on for some time.

HTH,
Myarka.

My personal experience with recurrent dreams is that they are trying to deliver a message. They continue until you get the message.
It is your inner knowing kicking in. Look at it honestly. Is there someone who is toxic to you? Is there a fear of a challenge that is waiting in wings...? or some other perceived or unperceived danger
You seem to be safe in the end.
Time will bring clarity about the dream if you don't cling to this or that and stay in the middle. Infact it is already doing it, the process is on.
The 'Aha moment' happens sometimes after months and years after such dreams. In the meanwhile be honest with whatever is going on in life.
Stay awake in the moment.

Hi everyone!

I must admit that I am absolutely fascinated by dreams; and although I am no expert, really like looking into the meanings for the person.

My personal experience with recurrent dreams is that they are trying to deliver a message.

Yes this is very true, however, a recurring dream may not always have the same meaning, or on the same level.

A nightmare is so handy once you know one little thing; they allow us to experience and show us the emotions that for whatever reason we cannot deal with during our waking.

What is/are the main emotion/s expressed in your nightmare? Once this is in your consciousness, you will be able to deal with it, and the nightmares will either stop or become less overwhelming.

If you are being chased, it symbolises avoiding something, if you do not know what is chasing you, then it's likely to be an emotion.

If you are being murdered in your dream (although, you say that there is a threat of it) then this could show a possibility of you feeling like someone is taking something of yours away from you. Or a possibility of childhood anger.

All of what I have said is either, from personal experience, out of one of two dream dictionaries or from the online Dream Moods Dictionary.

Hope this helps 🙂
