I went on holiday in Jan and I either got food poisioning or gasterontritis (sp). I never seemed to have recovered from this. I have a constant feeling a nausea that just won't go away, this has led to anxiety attacks and a constant worry of feeling sick and being sick. I'm unable to sleep due to these worries and nausea. I went to my GP who gave me some anti-depressants to ease the aniexty but they didn't agree with me and made the nausea worse. I now have a fear of taking medication from my GP encase it makes the nausea worse. I'm so tired and tense that I feel that I just can't take another day of feeling nauseous. Any advice welcome. A friend reccommended I try Rescue Remedy but I'm unsure of how many times a day I should take it?

RE: Nausea

I know of rescue remedy, but I'm not familiar with the directions for taking it I'm afraid.

You say you have a "constant" feeling of nausea. Is it really constant or is it when you think about eating? Do you feel the same if you drink a glass of water? It sounds like you body has been upset by the experience and because food is an everyday part of our life, there is a constant trigger there which is bringing on the nauseus feeling. I believe this is something that could be quite quickly overcome using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). A free manual for how to do EFT for yourself can be obtained from the founders website ([link= http://www.emofree.com ]www.emofree.com[/link]) as well as loads of information on that site to do with various ailments and how they are treated using EFT. Here on HealthyPages you can find out more info by looking in the Mind Therapies forum. Any of the EFT practitioners (or the other ones) that hang around in there will be happy to give you any further information and advice.

I hope this is cleared up soon for you.

Love and Reiki Hugs

RE: Nausea

Thank you for replying.

It is a constant feeling a nausea but does increase in severity it seems to worse a night but this is when my anxiety becomes worse. I've no appetite but am eating. Food doesn't seem to make the nausea worse nor does drinking a glass of water. I will have a look at the website. Thanks for your advice.

Steph

RE: Nausea

Hi Steph,
I'd recommend you seek homeopathic treatment which i'm sure would be effective in this case, as it is always helpful in prescribing when you know when the symptoms have come on from a particular incident.

I would look for a registered Homeopath.

Best of luck
