Does it mean anything?

Yesterday (Sunday) morning, I woke up very early agitated. Over the past 10 months, I've been very depressed and sad. The person who triggered my depression was in town and the agitation is rooted in the possiblity of running into this person. I wanted to include that as I feel it may have bearing on the dream.

After waking up, I fell back into a sort of twilight sleep. In the dream, I was looking into a billowing dark gray cloud or fog. In the distance a torch came on, facing my direction, and the light gently swung back an forth as though one might do while walking in a dark forest trying to see what's ahead. The source of the light was small and distant. After a few moments the light went out. The sequence was repeated about four times, each time the light was closer but never reaching me.

Anyway, normally I ignore dreams, but this one for some reason seemed important - enough for me to remember it clearly (I suppose being in the morning and a twilight sleep will do that). A friend suggested I post it here to see if anyone has anything to say about it. I have a powerful feeling it means something and I don't want to lose that. Thanks.

Perhaps someone is trying to tell you there is light and you are nearly there!
Or could the cloud represent your depression or feeling low and you know you can see the light, but just need to work out away of getting through to the light?

Can you send healing to the situation you have with this person?

hi scott , yes you are right , your dream has got a meaning for you .

so sorry about your depression , it is an awful thing to suffer from .

i felt drawn to interpret your dream so here is what i think .......

you saw yourself in fog , which represents your worries and uncertainty about the situation , but as you cant see through the fog , the dream suggests that really you are not seeing the situation as it really is .
the dream feels that the thought of seeing this person is actually worse than actually bumping into the person .(the dream is telling you that you have actually become stronger than you think). by being in the fog in your dream , it is giving you the message that - yes this person caused you all this anxiety -but you have been through all that , so how can they hurt you again, they cant , it is just your mind that thinks they can .
the light you saw means you will have a clearer mind , light is being shed on this situation and you need to move foward .
by seeing the light , the dream wants you to move foward - and stop letting this person make you feel like this (because it has gone on to long and you deserve better)take the light as a sign of guidance and your new found strength.
this dream symbolizes better times ahead for you regarding this situation .

good luck
i hope you feel better soon .

Hi Scott,

There are 3 elements to your dream of note:

- Fog, this represents dishonesty
- Light, representing truth/heaven or what is right
- repeating, i.e. not being able to get to where you want to be.

Put these together and what do you get?

You are doing some or have done business transation that's obviously the focus of your mind, pehaps related to the person you mentioned. They have been dishonest with you, which you suspect or may not have proof of what they've done because the light is coming from a torch, i.e. not a strong sustaining light like a star of the sun.

It repeated because you have frustration or unfinished business with this person and you won't find release until it's dealt with.

Now, I've assumed that the person who is being dishonest with you is the person you mention. But that is only an assumption and it could be someone else.

But the bottom line of the dream is that it's a warning that you are dealing with someone who doesn't have your best interests at heart and they are out to cheat you.

HTH,
Myarka.

Wow, thanks so much for the replies. Spot on I'd say. Myarka, the relationship with the person I mentioned was personal/friendship rather than business, but the dishonesty is no less true for it. It's rather a case of thinking you know a person for years and it turns out you didn't know them at all. Rosie, I think you have the measure of it. I would dearly love to move forward. But I'm lost in the details, if you will... Thanks again all. You've given me much to mull over.
