TBH I wasn't quite clear about what point you intend to make? And BTW, welcome to HP. 🙂

In the teachings of the Tibetan the ego is referred to as the soul or Solar Angel, we now refer to the ego as being of the personality and is based upon the solar plexus.

It's just a difference of how terms or words are used, "Ego" in Theosophy meant the "Higher Self" or Christ Presence, and had no relation to the 'ego' in psychology.

The Great Invocation through its three stanza's reflect these three Divine aspects bringing light into the world, indeed its use has a profound effect upon humanity.

As I posted, I think it's very overrated, and chelas in contact with the Masters, frankly, have a far more powerful way of using Invocation. But each to their own, as that little, simple prayer does no harm, but a mite of good.

Regarding the masters and the current teachings upon them, through the power of thought they have been created upon the Astral plane, they are not the true masters and any claims to be directly in touch with a master has no esoteric basis, as those who are would make no such claims.

Your meaning here is not clear to me. The Masters in my experience are as real as eggs are eggs, and their close disciples all know that.

The dweller? Well, that's one way of viewing life - that we are beset by this terrible creation of darkness, the dweller. But again, I've found IME and that also of many others that it's counter-productive to focus upon the negative. You are where your attention goes. So the dweller - the supposed "dark side" of us all, will exist so long as you believe in it and put attention upon the concept of it.

These days, the Masters advocate putting attention only upon the positive; then the negative and maya is not "fed" by the Light of our attention, so it withers away. 🙂

Quite rightly so maya is not something to be concerned with as it refers to the physical aspect of man. But the dweller also concerns "glamour" emotional, and "illusion" mental, all three make up the personality. Certain aspects of glamour and illusion can easily be seen, for example, in the media, social conformities, in short materialism.
Other aspects concern our position on the path, a disciple in the masters ashram does not concern themselves with criticism and judement, there is a fine line between that and observation, spiritual discernment and discrimination.
You have attempted to discredit the teachings of the tibetan through Alice Bailey, including the Great Invocation, your response was

I think its very over rated etc... IMHO there's nothing great about it though the words are nice of course.

To my mind these are not the words of a disciple, we are all on the path and are open to the guidance from those that have transcended the physical plane, those who are enlightened when using the first ray aspect then replace what has been distroyed with teachings that are based upon the coming age.
You suggest that is what you are in contact with, therefore would you share with us the "far more powerful way" of using invocation.

Yes, I agree absolutely. Criticism, especially as it happens, 'gossip' within a spiritual community is far more destructive than almost any realise. But I most agree with you about it being a very fine line. Untold criticism is negative, yet there's a need sometimes to speak truth, even it it's not what all want to hear. So yes, that's a fine line. For example, I've posted on HP about the books of Castaneda being, in fact, fiction. Not popular, but true. And not critical either as the books are fun.

To be more accurate, I've simply cited what IMHO the real Masters have commented on the Bailey books, giving a link. I was passing that on.

your response was
To my mind these are not the words of a disciple,

:p Here's where you enter territory I've been around far too long to get involved with. :p Along the lines of, "I am a real disciple, you are not." I can't think of any avenue of discussion more unworthy or unproductive. It's also a judgement of me, LOL, so the whole thing becomes circular and silly.

You suggest that is what you are in contact with, therefore would you share with us the "far more powerful way" of using invocation.

How I'd love to. But from teaching and demonstrating to other people, after my own training, in how this is done, a continuous comment I get is that, "I could never have learned this from a book, or from writing, or even from a recording or DVD. It does take the ongoing, personal contact with someone to demonstrate it in real life, and who I can ask questions to."

So it can hardly be conveyed, alas, over a mere forum post.

Best wishes,

V

It just occurred to me, as I find it an interesting point. It's what we might call a quiz. You don't have to engage in it, if you don't want to. But I like this episode as I find it instructive:

Why and how, did DK, The Tibetan, accidentally smash his nose and face to a pulp? And why, at the the time, didn't the actual Chohans of the time even know that he'd done it? 🙂

Dear Venetian,

I think your last quote

Why and how did DK, the Tibetan, accidentally .............and why etc....

Is all that needs to be said, the physical reference has very much saddened me with its connotation.
