Hello
I am more of a lurker on these boards than a poster but I was just wondering if anyone could help.
I get ill with each period. I feel very sick, very tired, i have an upset tummy and I cant cope with my kids! This starts from about a week before my period when I also start to spot. It then usually takes me about a week after my period has started to get back to feeling normal again. So its taking up quite a large part of my life.
I am taking evening primrose capsules (3 a day) now and this has certainly helped. At least I dont have to call my husband home from work anymore. But its still really rubbish.
What else can I try? Has anybody experienced this? My periods arent really heavy and I dont get much pain. I have also noticed that I have started to feel a bit sick around ovulation. I should say that this has only been a problem since having kids. Before children I hardly even noticed my periods.
I'm sick of being a girl now!
Hi Breeze
You have my sympathy! I've taken Vitamin B6 for my mood swings, not sure what strength, and evening primrose 1 x 1000mg a day for breast tenderness, I guess the first thing to do is ask your GP if it's so bad, maybe get your hormones checked? Diet can help, although easier said than done, I know! Starflower can also be helpful, I'm sure you,ll get lots of help on here. I know how you feel, I'm lucky and puzzled lately as mine seems to have gone and I stopped taking the vits! answers on a postcard please! x x
Hi Breeze,
Sorry to repeat myself (if you look at your post a while back) but I still would really recommend homeopathy......Hom
Thank you both so much for your replies.
I am so stupid, I have no recollection of posting on here about this before! I will use the excuse that I have had another baby in between and lost my mind! 🙂
I have been talking about trying homeopathy for a while now. It has been the cost that has put me off but I really cant carry on like this so I think I will just give it a go. I have always reacted very well to homeopathics in the past.
Thank you, you have given me the push I needed! 🙂
clarice08, can I ask you about the diet bit in your reply? Is there anything that I should or shouldnt be eating? Or is it just a healthy diet? Great to hear that yours have improved!
I used to have very painful periods, which is not a problem any more, mostly thanks to EFT - great pain relief and fabulous for stress. Quite a few case studies on these type of issues [DLMURL="http://emofree.com/searchresult.htm?cx=018421620257423462741%3Anj2wowtiiqw&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=UTF-8&q=menstrual+pains&siteurl=emofree.com%252F&siteurl=emofree.com%252F#931"]here[/DLMURL], which could give you some ideas.

Hi Breeze,
The symptoms you describe are exactly what is happening to me, but I can't get the GP to take me seriously. I haven't had children and came off the pill when this started to occure over 2 years ago. I did have a slight hormone imbalance (Prolactin was eleavated) but recent blood tests have indicated thats fine now but I still feel really sick and spot from around ovulation through to my period. Along with being a complete banshee due to pms.
Masha,
I hadn't thought to try EFT for this, so I think I will give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion.
Love and Light
Hiya, just my two pennysworth 🙂 I used to take magnesium ok and on a personal level found them better than primrose, vit b etc, each to their own i say and if it helps give it a go.
You could also try the pill or the coil if you prefer to go down that route they can both help to regulate the hormones which in turn often reduce pms symptoms. Before everyone shouts at me about 'natural' I am all for natural/herbal/homepathic/flower whatever remedy siuts you, i just think we shouldn't dismiss out of hand medicine either we gals dont have to suffer the indignity/guilt/horror of out of control bodies and we shouldnt!! we owe it to ourselves (and those who have to live with us:)x love and light :)xxxxxx
Breeze- I don't think your previous post was exactly the same! Bt I could see that things haven't been good for you for a while and wonder if the root cause is to do with hormonal imbalance. If you try homeopathy, you might be able to find a low cost clinic run by a local college, if you ring round. HTH Hom
Hi Breeze,
I have experience with painful periods, feeling ill, tired, weak, it goes on.
What helped; staying away from sugar and refined foods a few days before period and during. Only eating food at period times which I would normally find easy to digest. Avoid alcohol around period times = sugar + strain the liver.
Minimize use of chemicals in your home, use only natural perfumes and cosmetics, to take the strain off your body.
Get your hormones in check by learning more about how your body works, read books and educate yourself. Other forum members have good suggestions there. Also read a book about Candida. I like to take a good pro biotic like Inner Health Plus to keep the good bacteria up.
Exercise regularly, and very important to keep the bowel movement up daily. "If the bum ain't working, ain't nothin workin."
When I stuck to all the above my periods were so much better with only the occasional month where I got really ill.
Your statment "I'm sick of being a girl now! " even though maybe just meant as a throw away comment really says it all. Some emotional release, about being a girl and being sick monthly, would be good. EFT (emotional freedom technique) or a good healing session may make all the difference.
Talk to your doctor about my suggestions. See how they go for you. They worked for me most of the time.
However, IF you are trying to get pregnant again at any point and its not working, ask about Endometriosis which can cause a lot of the symptoms you are suggesting. I managed mine with the above, however, now I am trying to get pregnant I ran out of time to cure it naturally (which would have been my preference). I had the operation 2 days ago to get rid of it. (p.s. any healers who would like to send some healing my way would be appreciated).
Good luck with it all, happy to talk more if needed. 🙂
