i got my gallbladder removed at the start od december 2008, since then i didnt get a period, i thought i might miss one due to stress at im only 18years old and have a child, education and now getting an operation for the first time, scary. but then month 2 after my op and my period sitll didnt come, i went to the doctors and he tested me for pregnancy but it came back negative so put me on the pill to help it come faster. i still havent got my period so yesterday i tested myself again for pregnancy and still it was negative. the doctors are confused as im very young and healthy for my age. does anyone has suggestions why i might not be getting my periods and what might help my period come along. thanks

Hi Kirsty,

It's most likely that you're missing you periods due to stress, but to make sure there's a simple self help guide on NHS Direct that will advise you what to do:

Go to the doctor and have them check just in case.
Your missed periods are most likely the result of stopping the pill. It is not uncommon to miss and/or have irregular periods even for 6 months, but this usually happens if you were irregular on the pill.
