Hello. I need some help because I'm very uneducated about this topic. My gyna told me that I might have endo or exhibit some of the symptons. Which I told her were pain during and after sex, some bleeding after sex, little bit of swelling near the left pelvis.

Mind you this is not my regular gyna ( who told me it was nothing after examining me ), so this is actually a friends gyna.

She wants to send me for a pelvic sonogram, what is that? and is that proper procedure?

This is all new to me and I dont know what steps to take?

And what should i tell my regular gyna about this second opinion?

RE: Endometriosis

Hi Dnamis27 and welcome to HP

I don't know an awful lot about endo myself, but you could try posting on the Women's Problems section under 'Ailments' - you may get more replies there. There is a lady who posts on here called Tammy (username Tamlamb) who is very knowledgable and has written a book. Haven't seen her around lately, but perhaps you could try PM'ing her.

Good luck.

Lesley

RE: Endometriosis

Hi Dnamis 27

Welcome to HP.

Pelvic ultrasound is usually the first port of call to work out what is 'in there'.

Don't worry about telling your usual doc, any doctor worth their salt is happy for you to consult another for a second opinion, it's self diagnosis they are not happy with!

Ive heard how painful this condition is - so please get well soon.

RE: Endometriosis

Dear Dnamis,

Sorry i have not replied to your post sooner, i am packing to go on holiday to spain today and have not been on forum for a few weeks.

Endo:

Now being the honest person i am there are two options.

Option 1

you go down the normal conventional medicine route of surgery, followed by contraceptive injections and more surgery. I tried this for a year and it got me know where. Many women complain of weight gain when on contraceptives (some) and put it down to the injections/pill. What it actually is is the body filling with toxins/chemicals and an adverse reaction to the contraceptive injection/pill. the body fights it and causes it to bloat. many wont believe this but is a fact.

option 2

This is your second option and many have followed it. It is, in my opinion the more natural approach to healing the body. I am opposed to conventional medication. it helps some people but after finding out what i now Know about endometriosis conventional medicine doesnt offer a cure or help at all.

I am now free from Endometriosis. A fact. A statement many wont like but i am free from it. I have been taking a naturopathy programme of amino acids for the past 6 months and i am delighted to say my periods last 4 days, no pain, no headaches no bloating no nausea. A little discomfort a few days before, which is the body's natural way of telling you its going to start flushing out toxins (this is what the period is all about). you might find me blunt and I am sorry for that but why beat around the bush! In conventional medicine with endo your GP will send you for a laparascopy where they look inside, although i dont agree with Conv. medicine this is actually worth having done to see what stage you are at.

The naturopathy programme can be found at www.onlinenaturopath.net
There are 4 other ladies with endo who I have advised to go on this programme and they are receiving brilliant results. I use these words such as amazing and brilliant because thats what it is. no doctor has told me what the naturopath has told me, jeff campbell. He is the naturopath who runs this programme and if you decide to go on it he will be there every step of the way.

when you begin the programme the body begins its own healing process. as the programme works from the bone marrow, cells, muscles etc you may experience emotional cleansing and physical. this subsides after a few weeks as the body begins to rejuvinate. I have tried most things on the alternative market today and there is nothing to touch this programme.
i have lost 1 stone in weight. this weight was mainly toxins/stagnated energy in my system. my body feel wonderful, from my hair to my toes on my feet! this is not a sales plot I dont need to do that this programme sells itself and those who have been on it, including some very influencial people, many doctors, physicians etc cannot believe the results.

If you want to chat some more please email me but i am away now for 2 weeks in Minorca. My website, currently under construction but you can access it is: www.simplynatural.org so please feel free to browse. I dont mention this programme likely. I have written a book which i am hoping to publish soon as an e-book on website outlines the programme amongst other alternatives. The only way I can explain this programme is: NHS conventional treatment is say in the 19 century. This naturopathy programme is 23rd century! its such a modern and realistic approach to heatlh. showing us what is happening in our bodies, why we have this illness and how we can HEAL.

I wish you well and please feel free to contact me. There is another way.

RE: Endometriosis

There is a website for the endometriosis society, but I've forgotten what its called now, endolink, or something like that, but if you do a search it will come up.

The route Tam suggested sounds good, worth a try.

Perhaps also reflexology to help with hormone balancing. I had a hysterectomy after years of problems, which solved the problem but a bit drastic.

RE: Endometriosis

Hysterectomy is being offered to 20 year olds who suffer from this disease. its outrageous and only due to lack of knowledge. I have as I said above, cured this disease. The cause of Endo can be many things, but mainly point to genetic imbalance - we are made up of cells, blood, tissue, muscle etc that is from our parents and their health at the time we are conceived plays a major role in how healthy we are. Endo is due to imbalances in the genetic makeup. the naturopathy programme rebuilds the links in the genetic makeup, muscle tissue, cells, blood etc and rectifies any shortfalls, the body burns - headaches, pain, cysts, irregular bleeding, bloating etc, the burning is the body in pain, the burning due to the body trying to function without the proper tools, say a car with no petrol or oil! its not going to work. The site www.onlinenaturopath.net is a very interesting site. If you do have endo i would advise taking a look as I did and now that i am symptom free i feel it necessary to help others, or atleast point them in the right direction. Surgery is not the answer but sadly so many ladies are turning to it as they know of no other way. They turn to contraceptive pill/injections as it eases comfort, it may do but it also interferes with the body's natural function and more important the natural rhythms in the body which can cause many problems, weight gain being the first, then often many suffer from severe side effects. I dont use contraceptive injections anymore as they are full of chemicals and toxins, that the body really doesnt need.

With love and light[&o]

Tammy

RE: Endometriosis

Wow, never heard of a pelvic sonogram sounds interesting. Have you considered this option? If you do it, please do share how it went, okay? I'm having horrible periods and my doc says I'm in perimenopause - ug - but if it gets to bad, we can explore options to make sure there's nothing more "going on"...wondering if this would be one of them.

RE: Endometriosis

Justjeni,

I think a pelvic sonogram is the american term for an ultrasound scan.

RE: Endometriosis

The scan sounds interesting and would be easier than a laparoscopy. Its the surgery and medications that follow that further upset the female system. As I have said I have cured myself from Endo and others to have also been cured so feel free to contact me. All discussions are in strictest confidence. Its entirely up to the individual what route they want to take - conventional or natural but I am happy to show you how i did it.

With love

RE: Endometriosis

I have had endometriosis for yeas, it was diagnosed a year ago officially and I was offered a number of conventional treatments. I declined all of them, haing read alot of information in books and internet.
I have tried dietry changes (cutting out wheat was very helpful), supplements, meditations, visulisations etc
I trully believed that diet and nutrition was the answer, and bought a range of supplements as recommended by a nutritionist.
I saw little change, although I must admit I did have more energy.

The changing point came when I had a breast scare, and was diagnosed with benign Breast disease, in effect lumpy painful breasts!

I really felt out of my depth by then, and unable to treat both the endo and breast pain myself, so I turned to a homeopath.

Not only am I finally actually feeling a significant difference in pain relief, but emotional pressure has dissolved, and I have hope for the first time in years.

I thoroughly recommend seeing a homeopath and can recommend a fantastic intuitive perceptive caring man for anyone in the North West and North wales.

Feel free to ask any questions, there IS hope!

RE: Endometriosis

Hi, Having had Endo since i was 14, though only properly diagnosed at 18, i've been through the usual offers of whats available; Take the pill continually (not for me.) Mild hormones (narghhhh, gave me darker hair on lip legs etc.) In the beginning at 18 the 'male' doctor i saw said it was my body forming and i was making mountains out of mole hills (Stupid 'no idea about women, their bodies or feelings' prat) because 3 months later on xmas eve i got rushed in hospital again, put on a drip and asked over and over again ''could you be pregnant dear'' this had happened about a half dozen times with no conclusion to the obvious to me though only in my teens that something was wrong.

Anyhow, then 2 months later after a Laposcapy i was diagnosed and told how Endo can stop one becoming pregnant, so had a baby '' this could rid you of Endo'' they said. (please note i was in proper relationship at the time, blimey just realised it looked like i'd gone out there and trapped a 'man' LOL) Had a beautiful baby, but 6 months later Endo was back. It got to the stage that 10 days after already very bad periods i would start in more major pain, at times i could hardly walk or sit. So went back to hospital and had another Laposcapy and was told as i knew it was back, thats when they started offering different medications, which i tried until a couple of years had another baby with now hubby, we actually have had 3 children together so the not having babies bit went right out the window. I have found that Endo has come back quicker with each child i've had and has been alot worse since last son (who was C-section) however though i intend to go to the Doctors i have'nt yet returned to tell them its back and son is 2 now. This is because i know whats to come its the same procedure every time and its done nothing for me, so i take strong pain killers when it back real bad and grit my teeth.

I will go back to Doctors and don't encourage anyone to be daft enough to suffer as i do, only i have no-one to look after kiddies but hubby who works and so struggle for fitting in hospital visits.

I was told Endo is where the cells that line the womb escape and pass back up through the tubes into areas of ones body, i had some that were causing me to be 'matted together' around my ovary and tube lasered through a Laposcapy a few years back. I was told that the cells settle and attach and bleed as with a period but as the blood can't escape it causes infection, which causes the pain. I understand there are many levels of Endo with different levels of problems.

Have you been definatley confirmed as having it, as my mom suffered very much the same as me yet had 'Pelvic enflamitry desease'. I was told by one of the Docs i saw that many of the 'Womens' problems have the same syptoms, and many are hard to pin point.

I hope you are able to find the right treatment and be able to get through this well.

Health and Happiness to all
Rach xx 😉

RE: Endometriosis

Hi everyone
Interesting stuff and praise God for this Forum! My name is Lulu - I'm a Natural Health Practitioner from Australia and have been looking for a Forum that is not dominated by some self-praising nutcase who can only criticise others' stories - something that looks as though it has been happening to Tammy - hope it's not the same guy responsible....
I've worked with quite a bit of endometriosis over the years and as with all my cases, I try to use any modality which will work (left over from an earlier nursing career). I work with all cases yet somehow seem to come back to three main health issues - allergies/chemical sensitivity (hence the move towards Neways-type ranges), female health issues and childhood ailments. I tackle them with Homoeopathy, Acupuncture and Cupping, but have found that diet, chemical removal (dangerous ones...), supplementation and herbal preps seem to fit the bill (don't they always?). For everything else I refer for Osteopathy, Live Blood Analysis, Infra-Red Imaging, etc. Sorry to go on - but it does get exciting, eh!
The Endau is great, but I would also consider Uthinol (not sure if it's the same name in other countires, as Neways products are labelled differently according to what's already on the market). Also, a Tissue Salt (Cell Salt, Scheussler, Biochemic) for the purpose of absorption of scar tissue/adhesions. My favourite for this purpose are Silica and Calc Fluor - I prefer 30c but I'm sure any Homoeopath would agree that depending on the severity and duration of suffering, that 6x through to 200c would be ok.
I honestly don't know what it is like to suffer from such a debilitating ailment, so my heart goes out to you all. Don't give up - just remember everyone is different and based on your personal make-up what works for one may not be the exact key to another's problems. There is always an answer - it's just a shame that it wasn't readily available in truth form. As well as Dr Lee, another guy to watch out for is Phillip Day - he does some serious research which usually goes against the norm, but he has some amazing answers.
I look forward to reading and hopefully contributing to this Forum facility, as the one I used prior to this was controlled by a sad little figure who spent most of his time laughing and denigrating other Practitioners and any queries they may have.

RE: Endometriosis

Hi Pamperyou, as a holistic therapist I have had some success with endometriosis combining reiki treatments with two Nature's Sunshine products, the first called FC with Dong Quai which contains, red raspberry leaves, dong quai root, ginger root, licorice root, black cohosh root and other natural herbs etc. You can find more info at www.purenaturalherbs.com and the second is synerprotein which is non-gm soya protein plus various vitamins/minerals.
I can't see any reference to dong quai in this thread and wonder if anyone else has tried it - maybe as part of a chinese herbal remedy regime?
regards
